Adelisa sighed while her mother was cutting a woman's hair. She looked outside with a sense of longing that she hadn't wanted to acknowledge. Her mother noticed the girl's look and rolled her eyes. Adelisa heard "Dela, could you please go wash the windows outside? When you're done, you can walk to three stores. Nothing more." Dela whipped around to face her mother, her eyes wide. "You mean it?" Her mother nodded and Dela instantly ran to grab the Windex and paper towels. A smile appeared on her face as she stepped out of the shop. Adelisa looked across the street to see a busy coffee shop. She was slightly jealous of the freedom those people had. Her eyes wandered into the window and her eyes landed on some of the people working there. Feeling awkward, she turned back to the window and started cleaning.
