Evil has come.
Name: Zargon “The Corruptor” to most; to angels of old who remember or those, for whatever reason want to use the name he had as an angel, Zelglyphton. Race: Senior Demon Age: Appears to be in his 40’s (human form); ~16000 years in reality. Gender: Male Appearance

Clothing/Armor: Typically whatever his host is wearing at the time. Weapons: A long runeblade, pitch black in color with expensive-looking rubies in the hilt. Demon-forged, with the capability to amplify the natural abilities of its wielder and instilling a deep cold feeling into those who feel its steel. Designed by his master to kill Angels. It is known as “Demonsbane”. Alignment: Lawful Evil Skills/Abilities Host of Minions: Being a strong demon of considerable age, he has made connections with others and in effect has a private army of associates and minions. This allows him to use his connections to get what he wishes. Magic: Natural Demonic Abilities: He is harder to kill, can shift his form from demonic into human, and possesses strength and speed that is above average for a human to possess. Twisting Word: His very words attempt to break into the minds of who he talks to; an effect which tends to at least twist the will of weaker minded others if not bend them to his own. Stronger folks (ie, characters not NPC’s in the roleplay) are more resistant, but feel the effects that he weaves into his words. Dynamic Shape-Shifting: He shapeshifts as a normal demon would; however, he has more flexibility as to what he can shift into; he can mimic the appearance of those he sees and can even make himself into the form of animals, although nothing with wings or that is too small for him to condense into. One of the Chosen: Being one of the first demons that his creator made, he possesses seniority and authority in his realm over other strong demons. His powers are increased due to his status. He also has a few sub-traits as listed below from this: -Of the First: He is one of the original angels to have fully converted to being demonic, until he became what he is now.. -Anti Angel: Most demons tend to be weaker than angels, but having been a relatively high end angel himself before wholly becoming demonic, he retains the same level of power he once had - but with his special forged sword and his powers manifesting in demon form. -Hardcore: In a realm where many demons have forgotten their purpose, or consigned themselves to slavery at the hands of mortals, or reduced themselves to infighting, Zargon believes in the old ways. Chaos to the world is what he lives for, and in this he is set. His powers ultimately come from his inner energies that he is composed of; he is a being mostly made of his own energies, although he can’t do much physically without a host, as that is the means he uses to connect to the mortal realm and use his more physical abilities. His aura is amplified in his raw demonic form. Although he once had an energy source coming from his angelic core, it has since been corrupted entirely from dark magic that finds its root in the forgotten realms. Ultimately, he casts from the energies of his soul (and can become exhausted if he overexerts or does a powerful spell). Backstory Created as a middle-class angel, who had always had his doubts about the union of the creator’s host, which had become increasingly split over time. He was an intelligence sort of angel, suited for creating followers across the human masses before he was convinced to join the “other side”. He was given the task of being a recruiter, sending information about the angels back to his own lines along with recruits whose minds he was able to twist, both Angel and of other races. It had caused severe losses on the angel side, although it didn’t quite save his side from defeat in the end. This continued until the later part of the war, when he was discovered by an angelic leader who had been recruited by Zelglyphton while he was incognito. At first, Zelglyphton denied what he did; but later on he showed his true colors, and cursed everyone at his trial while sending a message of doom and destruction to all in his presence. He was cast from the realm onto the battlefields of humanity; even though a majority of angels had actually wished to have him destroyed. Some angels were sent to find him; half came up with nothing while the other half simply didn’t come back. He would be found later by a few of the first dedicated demons, the ones who had fully given themselves to the darker sides of magic. He too joined completely and gave his soul to the dark magics, and would be a long standing authority of Hell, even after the end of the war. Before it ended, he adapted the name given to him by his master, “Zargon”, which became known as the name of the single largest traitor to heaven since his master himself. His master also gave him Demonsbane as a reward for all his works. As time went on, demons became less and less dedicated to their roots, with the ranks of those believing in the continuation of the war dwindling. They instead split into various factions, all vying for control of the realm that had been made by the Creator as their eternal banishment. Zargon dedicated himself, instead, to research and experiments on trying to leave Hell. Dark magic left behind from his master was discovered by humans, allowing them to summon demons into the world at large. This was the single largest breakthrough for Zargon, particularly when a friend of his, Aezophyl, was summoned. Other demons took up the opportunities to establish businesses. Zargon worked to twist everything that the humans did into freedom and power for demons, finally succeeding in tricking one human who had summoned Zargon (with thanks to a demon associate who brought up the name) to summon him with full powers and freedoms. Zargon promptly killed the human, established a long-standing link in the form of a family line, which still exists hidden today as a shunned family of witches, and was able to then move between the realms at will, without requiring summoning. He helped his friend in establishing that knowledge; a little ways after, all higher level demons learned how to do it. He has since been looking for more ways to strengthen and expand the branches of his power in the mortal realm (namely, Waeldeshore), including a way to travel without needing to rely on often unreliable hosts. Lower end demons can compile their energies into a solid form easily, and angels have more control; but the nature of his power and the fact he has a lot more raw energy than most demons makes it difficult to keep it in a form that he personally has without it being plainly obvious that he is a demon. Depending on how much magic he uses, he can burn out his host quicker. If he used minimal magic then his host can last for roughly a month. Other -Hallowed ground is less effective with him; unless places are warded against him or protected by a high level angel he can enter such grounds, although it pains him to do so. -His name is hated in the ranks of the angels and feared by many lower demons; higher level demons see him as a threat, especially the ones who don’t follow his dedication to the original leader. They tend to just barely lack the power to openly take him down, although a united front could take him out. -His influence makes it difficult to hide from those who know how to identify demons, as it becomes immediately obvious the extent of his evil. All angels and demons can quite easily know what he is and in some cases who, with those trained to know how to find demons also being able to quickly identify his nature.

Name: Aezophyl “The Pyromancer” Race: Demon Age: ~8000 years; energy is consolidated into his armor. Gender: Male Appearance

Clothing/Armor: The armor that he always wears. Weapons: A short, red tinted sword from which he often casts his fire spells, although it is not required. Alignment: Chaotic Evil Skills/Abilities Mastery of Fire: He is capable of controlling fire and maneuvering it to his wishes, provided there is a good oxygen source and proper circumstances (fire is a bit hard to make outside in a thunderstorm, or in an icy plain). Swordsman: He’s not the greatest swordsman to walk the realms, but years of experience and practice have made him quite good. Of course, he isn’t against cheating just a little with some fire... Magic The nature of his ability allows him to use fire in almost any way he wants, from casting fireballs, to lighting trees on fire, and to enchanting his sword to be on fire. He also can travel through fire without being harmed, and can actually absorb a little from it. He has abandoned natural demon shifting to consolidate power in his other abilities. His nature is easily detected, although at a long distance it may not be obvious what he is due to his humanoid appearance. His demon form has been consolidated into his armor and without the armor, he is no more than a wrathful mass of energy that must return to Hell or dissolve rather painfully. His energy comes from his demonic soul, the dark magics of which were first discovered in a forgotten realm by the very angel who caused the split in the first place between angels and what would become demons. His affinity with fire is a long perfected way of making his powers Backstory Near the end of the angelic civil war that had caused the creation of all demons, Aezophyl was a knight who was one of the few who had the dedication of one wholly given to the dark arts. Unfortunately, his power hardly matched angels in the field; a few battles later he was massacred along with the final warriors left in the mortal realm. He was one of the last to be sent to hell in the initial wave; it was extremely obvious how his soul was lost to darkness. He started out as a mortal man, born into a family of knights; while the world was split in the largest war of history, he learned in relative comfort the art of war. This art he practiced for a long time, until he was finally called into battle. He proved a worthy fighter, participating in raids against weakly defended angelic holdouts while being tutored by the angels who would become the first demons, including Zargon in his discreet way before banishment, in the dark magics that make up demons. When Aezophyl was killed, his soul had been modified in irreversible ways, with the purity of his soul being compromised. He was a liability to others almost due to his influences. He was quickly deemed too great a threat and sent as one of the last batch of souls to Hell to be locked up. He was brought under the wing of Zargon and trained to be pretty much a weapon of destruction. In the couple thousand years of Hell’s isolation, he adopted a set of demon-forged armor as his host, sending all his energies into it. he gave up shifting to do this, but considering his rather weak comparison against other higher level angels, he needed the power he could get. When dark magics were tapped into to open up loopholes into hell, summoning demons, he brought the developments to the attention of Zargon. When Zargon devised a spell to link the realms with souls, Aezophyl was the first test subject, and a successful one. For the next couple thousand years, Aezophyl wandered the mountains, occasionally meeting the inhabitants of the world and promptly slaying small groups them, before being called back by Zargon to join a small army of those recruited to make a new, small force - one that would come into use by Jeltheor... Other -He is a bit stronger than the average middle class demon. -His powers are focused and centralized; not very diverse. His strength comes in what he does best and focuses on, and that would be his armor form and the element fire.. -He is unpopular with any who would summon demons due to the fact that he does just about whatever he wants; he can chose if he wishes to be summoned in many circumstances (including all regular summoning spells) and he does not need to be summoned to walk the mortal realm. -He isn’t hard to detect, considering he has given up his shifting ability in favor of a humanoid dark knight appearance. His best disguise is… not being in the area. -He isn’t hard to pick up, even by those who normally wouldn’t notice a sign of demons, due to his disregard for shifting and therefore concealing his identity. Someone who doesn’t know the first thing about demons would have “demon” pop up in mind. -He’s not very talkative. Mostly because he prefers burning things and causing chaos over words. -He is a friend of Zargon, even with their somewhat contrasting personalities.

Name: Kaephael Race: Fallen Angel Age: Appears to be in his 30’s; in reality ~14000 years. Gender: Male Appearance

Clothing/Armor: Weapons: A long angelic spear; once a silver color, but now gray like the rest of him. Almost indestructable; capable of killing most angels, demons, and beings below. Specialized for use against the first demons. Alignment: Neutral Evil Skills/Abilities Spearmaster: He does a very good job of fighting with his spear. Angelic Power: Although “he’s no angel” by identity and what he has made himself as, he still retains most of his angelic powers. He is a demon by his thoughts, but not by the magics he uses. Magic Natural Angelic Abilities: Shifting from his pure light angel form to his human form, more strength and faster reflexes(even more so than a senior demon), limited “feel” for what others are generally thinking, silent teleportation (while calm), healing and exorcism (he can use his own powers to make those who are affiliated with the dark demonic magics be banished to Hell if they are not strong enough, although this is a bit of a process and not an instant thing). He can be detected by others of angelic origin or by the rare few that are trained to detect angels. He has not given himself up to the dark magics that are the blessings and curses of demons. Instead, he is a traitor who is inclined to sabotage the efforts of plans set in motion long ago by the Creator, who has remained ominously silent to his actions. This allows him to still draw on his angelic core for energy, which is supplied as a portion of the Creator, but in a dulled form. Not having the blessing of his realm, he and all that he is composed of has darkened into a duller gray as compared to the brightness he once had. Backstory An angel of a long history, he was best known in the early days as the intelligence commander of the Angels, who was very well respected by all of his kind. He was the one to expose his brother Zelglyphton’s total corruption and the one who saw that he was banished. The result of his mission to catch he who now identifies as Zargon was that although he did his job, he slowly came to realize some of the forbidden merits that Zargon had stood for. He became cynical and less convinced. When the time came to what was expected to be a landslide judgement in favor of destroying Zargon, he alone convinced some others who were judging to vote in favor of casting him down as a fallen angel. This was not out of mercy; Kaephael was still fighting his internal battle and for whatever reason decided to keep Zargon around. From that point on, he went downhill, becoming more distant. His legacy spoke much more often than he did, reclining in his chambers while attempting to make sense of the very things he was created to take for granted. This confusion, combined with what had then become the Creator’s longer than usual absence, led him to lose his purity. That was not missed by his seniors, the Archangels; who had for a time considered bringing Kaephael into their ranks. Being confronted and tested, he proved to have lost all faith and in many cases knowledge of what the original ideals even were. Kaephael made no attempt to hide his growing disdain, eventually going so far as to investigate dark magics on his own terms. Or, to put it simply, to do the same thing (looking into the wrong sort of stuff...) that had caused the civil war of the angels in the first place. He was, however, quickly discovered and put to trial. The proceedings were similar to Zargon’s trial, with him first denying things and then revealing just how badly he was gone. the Archangels preceded over the trial and ruled him to become a fallen angel, in the hopes that he would someday return to the flock. That never happened, of course… In the mortal realm, he pretty much lurked in the shadows, consigning himself to bars while he thought wistfully about the course of the universe. Rumors of new troubles have led him to travel once more. He’s not sure what he wants, but it probably won’t end up being something good for folks, either… Other -He is hated or at least greatly distrusted by most angels for his tinkerings and treachery, even though he has not delved into dark magics for a long time. -Zargon is his ultimate weak spot. -He does not react kindly to other angels or those who are any way demonic. -He has an unreasonable racism against gnomes. -He knows a good variety of spells due to his seniority and wandering, both ones that he can use his own energies on and more traditional versions, such as the weave.

Minor characters will be ones used really more as little plot devices to move things along or spice things up a bit, controlled by me but really more built to die off quickly. NPC's I make can be taken over by anyone and usually consist of minor, less intelligent characters that will be marked appropriately in IC posts. I made them, but feel free to use them as long as it fits the info for them. Many of these characters, such as Craxis and Grhesus, will operate in the background or for specific missions/quests. There is a chance of meeting them; if you want to I am sure I can arrange a "meeting" :P

Middle Class Demon; Minor Character; In Play A demon who was always on the lower end of angelic society in the old days, he is what some would refer to as "the slime of hell". To others, he is a useful recruiter when representing someone considerably more powerful than himself. His ability to convince others to follow the cause he represents, along with his low key nature being more powerful than the average lesser demon yet not too powerful to be easily detected, makes him one of Zargon's most useful allies. -He is quite loyal to Zargon, and it would be difficult to convince him to betray his master. -He's a medium level demon; not as powerful as Aezophyl but also powerful enough to easily battle a single strong human or lesser demon 1v1. -Unless players somehow find his domain in hell; there is little chance that he will actually be interacted with by another player. -In combat, he would have extra strength, faster reflexes and whatever physical advantages of his true form (if the time comes to post it). He would be resistant to normal human weapons and have greater endurance. -He prefers using a human form for interaction.

Upper Middle Class Demon; Minor Character; Not in Play Craxis is a special case with demons, as his powers rely completely on his ability to drain the energies of others. His both advantage and disadvantage is the inability to make a completely physical form; so although he can do extreme damage when surrounding someone with his essence, he has difficulties using his will to move common objects. This he relys on his minions, the Hidden for. Some have called him "The Weakest Demon Lord", as although he is not quite as powerful as an upper class demon such as Zargon, his control over the Hidden, his reputation and his capabilities have made him an influential force and an asset in reserve should Zargon come under direct threat of having his plans disturbed. -He is a half spirit entity. He is immune to physical objects but vulnerable to magic, particularly Angelic. -He cannot assume a physical form. -He can disperse himself in a way to look invisible while being spread out. One can tell if he is near by feeling drained, more quickly the longer he is around. -His greatest power is sucking energy from someone. This ranges from their life force to magical force, or mana. -Antimagic is less effective on him than it would be on others, and does reduced damage; however, real magic does do damage to him. -When killed (aka, his energies either overloaded or his essence being banished), he is sent back into the Abyss, where he spends many years regenerating (more than the roleplay will probably cover). -He will be brought into play as one of the later boss fights.
The collective name of a small group of long corrupted humans, the Hidden are a sect of around 100 zombie-like humans who can blend completely into shadows and become invisible, striking at their enemies or retrieving things that his master would be less able to do alone. Knowledge by humans of them is limited, and even by the Angels; only demons know that they at least exist, hence their name. -Ambushers by nature. They can completely blend into darkness and become undetectable if not moving at all. -Sunlight and fire burns them. Physical weapons are reduced in effectiveness; since they can just put themselves back together again, but magic is very damaging to them. -They are souls trapped in an old human body, completely twisted towards the will of their master. -If killed, their souls are freed and ascend, while their bodies collapse and undergo a quick decaying process that makes up for what they should have had happen. Basically, due to their age, they turn into dust when they die.

Lower Class Demon; Minor Character; Not in Play A succubus of some renown, although considered by most to be a lower class demon. She was converted to being a demon from an once human soul by selling herself to the demon Craxis, but later breaking free of his will and becoming "independent" in hell - until Craxis brought up the old deal to Zargon, who had Grhesus threaten her with some "quality time" in Zargon's doman, long thought by many lesser demons to be the ultimate place of pain and irreversable soul damage apart from the Dungeons of Hell themselves. She serves unwillingly and continuously regrets her status, being degraded in her title to being below the normal status of lesser demons. -She is weak even for lesser demons; Xusin could probably take her down in a straight fight. -In life, she was a prostitute forced into the job by circumstance. Her deal, which she never wants to talk about, continued this extension of her occupation. -Her use to Zargon's cause lies in her charms from life; she can make a very convincing human, although demons and the proper spells can easily see through it. -Her "free spirit" nature is known in hell; what is less known is the rebinding of her soul to another master, this time Zargon. She would do anything to break from this spell and preferably kill him (not that she could possibly do that on her own).

Lower Class Demon, NPC In Battle, Not in Play Warriors who were once brutal soldiers and most likely commited a massacre of some scale or another, or willingly participated in one. These knights are a bit stronger, wear demon armer and have a more unified purpose in Hell than they did in life. They are spread across the ranks, being bodyguard, mercenaries, grunt demon soldiers... just about anything that Hell needs. -They are stronger versions of what they were in life. -They are fully corrupted and have no thought as to right or wrong, only the desire to serve their leaders. -They can be killed without much difficulty when ganged up on. -They are resistant to the usual weapons, as they wear demon armor, but well placed hits and magic can take them out. -Some lesser demons can disguise to look himan. These are the most grunt-like of the bunch and can't. -There is a couple million of them in Hell; recruitment is easy. -Angels can smite them on the spot by the dozen; even lower classed ones or ones that still have a bit of angelic matter left can smite small groups. -When they are wounded, they bleed a lot more than a human should. The blood should not be touched by hand as it is toxic and a bit acidic; and they do not get weakened by the loss of this blood. That is in large part why they are called blood knights. -They fight each other when on opposite ends of leaders with no hesitation.

Higher end Lower Class Demon; NPC in Battle; Not in Play Souls stripped of their will, purity and other things by the Dungeons of Hell that are then sent out to be claimed by masters everywhere. They are immune to everything physical but particularly vunerable to magic, and especially banishing en-masse. They are, in a nutshell, a very useful distraction. -They don't hurt too much physically but can drive someone insane with their screaming and all sorts of other ghastly noises that are ear-breaking sometimes. -They can vanish, causing no noise while doing so and while vanished, and re-appear somewhere else (having moved faster in another plane of existance) noisy as ever. -Characters quickly get the feeling of "do these things ever shut up?" No, they don't unless you get rid of them. -They are stupid in intelligence, having no mind; only a soul and someone's will to send them somewhere. -They can piss off demons, too; it's why Zargon keeps them in enchanted caves a long ways away from wherever he is. -The sounds of these things provide the background noise in Hell.

Uridial has a long past in the mortal realm. Being an upper middle class demon, rivalling others such as Aezophyl, few in the mortal realm actually know his name, but most know his reputation. His fame has come from a sort of paradox - he hunts those who hunt his kind. This he has done for many years, eventually reaching the famed Orthell line and eliminating most within. It was the first time his plans were psoiled... and he ever urges for revenge. -His reputation is the largest of all demons in the mortal realm, even being the subject of a few folktales. However, his name is a well kept secret known only by demons or those who have read through the contents of a forbidden book of demon summoning. -He's a target for many demon hunters, but the truch is that they tend to paint themselves as targets. He controls someone they love or are associated with, and them eliminates the competition, causing great anguish in the process. -He is not angel born; he was in fact corrupted by Craxis from an age old demon hunter's soul. -His defeat was lucky; he was banished to hell, not the Abyss. The spell used did not send him back to the place where he would have to reforge energies to escape, but he may not be so lucky should there be a next time. -He has a deep and bitter hatred of the Orthall line. He would love the opportunity to bring what's left of it down.

A middle class demon, angel born, he is an upper class Hellsoul who had attempted to attack hell with a small host of other angels who share his fate. he became the strongest of these souls, now serving to either annoy those around him with his banshee noises or sent to create some chaos on the mortal realm. -He has all the traits of normal Hellsouls, but stronger and with less defined weaknesses. -In the scheme of demons, he is in the lower middle.

Lastathon is an assassin by trade and one of the strongest Blood Knights by nature. he is unrivalled in combat, having slain entire armies division by division, although that may have to do with his demonic armor and weapon as well. He is the ultimate in hand to hand combat, and is typically sent to eliminate those who would make good Blood Knight candidates (ie, sending those that are marked to their new home faster). -Attempts to fight him in melee are fruitless, because of his skill, extremely powerful armor and his ancient blade. -He is vulnerable to enchanted arrows and the like. If you can shoot him fast enough. -Non-enchanted attacks are fruitless. He is Angel Born with armor far stronger than, say, Aezophyl's. -His power would put him at a high class demon, yet he is always willing to hire himself out to the best master who can "afford" him with some souls of his own. -He is late game. Ie, you may not see him for weeks or months.
