Okay, changed it. I had to make little amends of the backstory but it's basically the same thing and I changed the personality thing.
Name: Sgt. Paul MacGiolla Age: 27 Gender: Male Appearance: Occupation: Soldier, Ex-Mercenary, Volunteer. Personality: Paul, despite what he's been though, is overall a amiable person though still not someone you would want to mess with. Men like him have a tendency to protect their egos when they are shoved a little too hard. He likes to work alone most of the time and is a pretty decent scout, but doesn't at all mind to lend a helping hand to others when they need it as it is almost brings him pleasure to help people. His ideologies are little, as they mainly focus on emphasizing quick-mindedness in order to carry out swift actions and helping the common good as he once vowed to do after the incident. There are times, however, were he can be a bitter person despite his good intentions and be too brutally honest with people who are 'blindly hopeful.' Biography: Paul was born in Brooklyn, New York many years ago in a friendly neighborhood and like most children born in the world before the bombs dropped, he lived a secure life. Growing up, Paul was a very normal kid and had aspirations to be a pilot in the US Airforce and did very well in school which would've earned him a scholarship into getting to a decent school like the ROTC Air Force program at Penn State but Paul decided to join the US Rangers for 3 years before heading to college. In those 3 years, Paul would later serve his time deployed overseas in Afghanistan, fighting the war on terror. Paul soon graduated as a US army ranger, being on the top 3 of his class out of 200 recruits and proved himself to be a useful and essential soldier to those in his unit. In his three years of experience, Sgt. MacGiolla has attempted to help others secure a life for themselves and was proud to do so with also a handful of unsavory, painfully memorable experiences while serving his time in the Middle East. By the time his 3 years of service was almost done, he had intentions to go to college at Penn State and live a comfortable life. However fate had other things planned and during leave on day, malicious terrorists, with unknown intentions, dropped what was said on the news, 'bombs which released the spores of a genetically engineered version of Ophiocordyceps unilateralis, a parasitic fungus which attaches itself to a living organism and thereby infects the victim's neural system, changing the causing an alteration of behavioral patterns within the victim and turning them into violent killers.' As the bombs dropped, the nation was plunged a great panic of temerity and soon across the rest of the world as many people began to flee from large cities but to no avail as many soon had perished. Many fled the city including Paul's family, as he tried to desperately get them and others to safety and then later reporting back for duty where he was re-stationed in order to help others at a secured government checkpoint. While there, Paul saw that his family and some of his friends were there thankfully safe and sound. However, as time passed, infections throughout the checkpoint became more and more rampant, as one night, there was an attack on the camp by a swarm of the infected who tore their way into the checkpoint, killing and infecting everyone they say in their sight. The military had tried to prevent the swarm from proceeding to kill everyone in the checkpoint but too almost no avail, as nearly half the population was slaughtered. Those who survived were relocated to a larger, more secure facility in hopes of gathering the rest of New York City's survivors. Unfortunately, Paul was the sole survivor from his family and friends of the malicious onslaught, leaving the young veteran mentally scarred for the rest of his life. It was after that moment Paul then soon swore to do anything he could to but an end to the fungal epidemic, but ironically after his service, the veteran soon found himself working to the criminal underworld, working as a part-time mercenary in order to survive. In his experiences in being a criminal, Paul's life went from being a friendly, helpful acclaimed 'hero' to a cruel, murdering criminal. With a small episode of self-realization several months later, the veteran soon became a volunteer on routine missions outside of Safe Zone 88. To this day, Sgt. Paul MacGiolla volunteers regularly in order to save the lives of innocent people he swore to help protect those in need and lives by a motto, 'life is cruel, but that doesn't give you the right to be.'
