Name My name is Melloch Species: Herglic or Koodan, whichever you prefer. Age: 32 Gender: Male Faction: I serve the Jedi Order Rank: Jedi Knight Captive? No. I’m a part of the mission to save those captured. Appearance: I am slightly taller than is average for my species, standing at 7ft 5in, and I weigh 416 pounds. Notable Characteristics of Species: My species is naturally very large, hairless, and typically have smooth skin(mine has been scarred with war). We possess aquatic organs, most notably the blowhole we breathe through. Flaws: While I am certainly strong, due to my size, I am slow and clumsy compared to most races. Also due to my size. I cannot make it through most doorways, without some pain, quickly due to the fact that they are made for races that are far thinner and shorter than me. I’m afraid I am not very dexterous with the items that will be on the ship or the items we will be encountering on the other ship. They are not made to my size, and I will only break them. The only thing made to my size on this entire ship is my Lightclub. Skills: My concentration is, and there’s not modest way to say this, phenomenal and I’m able to concentrate on multiple things at once. I have too. How else am I supposed to use telekinesis to the degree I can while talking to people? I have a considerable degree of skill in the arts of healing, although little of my work is actually hands on, given that my hands can’t do the necessary finesse work. I make up for this with telekinesis. My still with telekinesis, especially finesse work, is phenomenal as well. A necessity. My lightsaber style of combat is..unorthodox, given that I wield four rather than one or two. I am moderately skilled in use the lightsaber form V Shien and Djem So. Force capabilities: -Basics. I am skilled in the basics all Jedi learn, but I have mastered telekinesis. Especially with finesse control, a necessary requirement for my chosen profession. -Force Heal. I know the limits, but I’m very good at it. My aptitude, already there in my personality and only helped by my culture, is more than sufficient. -Force Empathy. It is useful to know what others are feeling when you’re trying to diffuse a tense situation, or ease a panicking patient, if disturbing at times. -Malacia. Messy, but undeniably effective. -Force Stun. I do have some combat skills. -Telekinetic Whirlwind. Useful for getting some space. Biography: I don’t really remember by birth planet. I remember being among other Herglics in a closed settlement, given that we were far larger than any of the planets other inhabitants. When the Jedi came through the community, looking for force sensitives, they found me fairly quickly. At the age of five I was taken away to the Jedi Medical center on H’Ratth to both study the art of healing (the Jedi who found me correctly figuring my personality would be best suited for a Healer) and be prepared for Jedi initiation. It was my first real taste of the war and it was a wake-up call. For three years I helped treat the wounded (usually doing running for those whose fingers and hands were suited to it), started learning the medical arts, and how to use the force. Needless to say, it was a very busy three years. At the age of eight, I passed my initiate trials and was apprenticed to Jedi Knight John Matthews. The human recognized my weaknesses, fairly quickly. Despite my natural inclination to the healing arts I would not be able to help with basic medical arts, given that my hands were too large for dexterous work. So my training in force powers was intensive on telekinesis. I’ll spare you the tedious details, lest you die of boredom, but suffice to say that there was a lot of repetition. After several years, my master decided that I was ready to actually go to the frontlines of the war. I was supposed to only be helping the healers, doing my best to keep our soldiers alive. Of course, things never go as planned in war. On a routine trip to help heal the injured, far behind our own lines, things ended badly very quickly. The Sith launched an assault on the medical building I was in, intent on taking what medical supplies they could and killing all in their path. I don’t remember what exactly happened up to the event that left me scarred, but I can describe the event itself. A Sith came into the Kolto tank room, which I was consigned to with several of the more injured patients. Despite my best efforts, he quickly disarmed me, threw me into several of the Kolto tank (evidently I had angered him enough that he forgot how valuable the liquid in those tanks were), and then slew the two patients. To be perfectly honest, I lost control. I was supposed to have protected those patients and they died. I tried to attack the Sith again and he beat the living hell out of me again. When he finally got bored and started to lazily go in for the kill I, while bleeding heavily from the soon-to-be scars, saw one of the dead patient’s lightsaber in the background. Reaching out with the Force I used telekinesis to not only activate it, but yank it through the air and into the head of the Sith. Then I passed out. I awoke sometime later to the sounds of Republic forces entering the building. I was alive, but the Jedi I was supposed to protect and heal were not. That was a failure I would not repeat. I took the lightsabers, even the Sith’s, to remind me always of my failure and to make sure I never repeated it. I managed to limp and stumble my way Republic help, and then was given a sedative as the other healers worked on me. When I awoke again, I was informed I had passed my Trial of Courage. The following years were rather uneventful, with me developing my powers with Telekinesis and lightsaber combat using it, passing my other trials, and becoming a knight. Personality and/or Motivation: I am like most Herglics, inquisitive, practical, and calm. But I am also kind, eager to help people in whatever way I can. Be it healing, listening, or going on a rescue mission after a sith ship with at least one known Darth on it. I have also been described as ‘sickeningly optimistic’ before. I am easy going, unless you’re my patient or trying to interfere with my patient. Then I’ve been described as just about every insulting name in the galaxy for a strict mother hen. Player’s long term goals: Save the Jedi prisoners, and keep the rescuers from being too much the blood thirsty fanatics. :p Relations: TBD Final Point - Secrets: Melloch, like most Herglics, has a gambling problem. He cannot resist a game of chance, or a bet. On the flip side, this also means he’s become quite good at games like that.
