"I'm not the only human who owns a Death Note, am I, Ezerion?" The question was rhetorical, of course. The recent string of violent suicides I had witnessed couldn't be a coincidence, after all. And even if they were, there was no denying what I had seen. That man on trial for rape - the number above his head wasn't even close to zero, yet he died all the same. That could only mean one thing. "Whoever that guy is, I like his style," said my Shinigami, "Public and violent. Before long, the whole world will be panicking. I wish you weren't so boring, little sis." I feigned a 'hmph' at the insult offered by the monster who was my only friend. He wasn't wrong, though; I had only used my Death Note a handful of times after establishing that it actually worked. A man accused of kidnapping who was about to be acquitted... well, he deserved to rot forever, but I gave him the next best thing. A simple look in his eyes was enough to tell me he was guilty, after all. No matter how much I hurt him, he deserved it, and the world was better off for it. It didn't matter that I enjoyed it! "How are your plans for Daddy coming along?" asked Ezerion. I frowned, my gaze landing on the bright red eyes of my companion. He was referring to my eventual goal of killing my father. But he knew I hadn't made any progress on that front. I couldn't just kill him, after all; it could put me under suspicion. Everyone knew I had never forgiven him - how could I have? The things I had suffered because of him... I sat up, crossed-legged atop my bed as details of another macabre suicide buzzed through the TV. Whatever. Something had occurred to me, something important. "Hey, Ezerion... if this guy gets caught, the police will learn all about the Death Note, right?" My Shinigami chuckled. "Yea, probably," he said. My frown evolved into a grimace. "That settles it, then," I said, "Before this jerk can ruin my opportunity... he must die." The Shinigami's perpetual evil grin widened. "Now that sounds like fun, Little SiS."
