Spinel put a hand on her chin.  Between what Aqua said and the shouting of the human who recently arrived, she realized that she had been seriously mistaken.  I mean, of course she knew she wasn't really a spirit, but this gem business was news to her.  [i][b]I'm[/b] a gem?  And a crystal gem, at that?[/i]  She wasn't sure how she felt about this, but she knew she preferred the silence and tranquility she knew for the first few minutes of her existence to... whatever you call what had just happened.

"We should plan an actual strategy." she said apropos of very little, to nobody in particular.  "I'm assuming we're being hunted by someone or something, is that right?" she addressed Aqua this time.  "If we can't mobilize and get our of here immediately, we may need to improvise in some way."
