Figured that I'd rework one of the many NPCs I've been shamelessly using into an actual character. I'll probably do the same for the rest of the characters I've been using really often.
Name: Fortus Gama (formerly Xipe Tezcat) Age: 45 Gender: Male Appearance:

Canon, AU, or OC?: OC Universe of Origin: Mortal Kombat Personality: Like all wizards, Fortus is a proud being. Against fellow wizards, he feels a strong sense of competitiveness. Against non-wizards--even beings of equal or greater magical powers-- he feels nothing but pity and contempt. Abilities/Weapons: Wizardry: Fortus has been granted ineffable power through the whims of the Wizard Syndicate. When wearing his robe, a full beard, and his wizardly staff, Fortus is capable of casting a wide variety of dangerous and useful spells. Without his staff, Fortus is wholly susceptible to the power of his own spells, and cannot control them. Without his robe, Fortus is only capable of casting Clairvoyance, Magic Missile, and Phase Shift. Robustness: Through the strange properties of spending a day on Space Station 13, Fortus has temporarily become a wondrous savant. His arms have turned invisible (though an extremely convincing illusion of them appears in their usual place), he can sprint nearly indefinitely, and processes chemicals instantaneously. However, he is also extremely susceptible to being knocked down and the cold. Clairvoyance: By concentrating very hard, Fortus can magically divine the location of his objectives. Unfortunately, this technique only works if he knows exactly what he's looking for, and is immediately stymied by any amount of psionic protection. Magic Missile: By screaming "FORTI GY AMA", an array of spheres of pure magic shoots forth from his fingertips. These spheres hunt down any nearby humanoids and, upon impact, wrack their body with electric shocks. Anyone struck by this will be temporarily knocked down for around five seconds, leaving Fortus time to either escape or close in for the kill. Magic Missile has no effect on non-humanoids. Magic Missile can only be cast once every eight seconds. Phase Shift: At will, Fortus can partially shift his body into an alternate plane. In this form, he can go through walls, floors, beings, and energy shields as if they were air itself. Fortus is incapable of speaking or acting in this form. This form lasts for only ten seconds, after which Fortus will be brought back into the material realm, regardless of where he ended up. This spell can be cast once every thirty seconds. Rathen's Secret: By shouting "ARSE NATH!", Fortus spreads a devious magic through the surrounding area. Any humanoids afflicted by this immediately suffer extreme gastrointestinal trauma; in layman's terms, the victim farts so fiercely their ass flies off. Strangely enough, the victim suffers no ill effects beyond terminal embarassment, a missing rear end, and minor smoke inhalation. This spell often creates an immense smoke screen around those afflicted, allowing him to escape in the confusion and embarassment. Knock: By shouting "AULIE OXIN FIERA!", all doors around Fortus will immediately open themselves, regardless of their state. This technique only works on things intended to be doors or door-like pieces of furniture, and all doors affected return to working order the moment they're closed again. This spell can only be cast once every two minutes. Spellshield: At will, Fortus can surround himself with a magical shield that reduces the impact of all spells and projectiles that strike him. This does not remove all damage, but significantly reduces their lethality. This spell dissipates after five minutes, and can only be cast once every ten minutes. Empower: By screaming incoherently, Fortus awakens his inner magic reserves and grows stronger as a result. This spell transforms Fortus into a hulking, telekinetic, hyperactive beast of a man. Fortus retains all spellcasting abilities while Empowered, can only speak in shouts, and his skin pigment turns neon green. This spell holds its effects for two minutes before his power fades, and can only be cast once every ten minutes. Backstory:
The great kingdoms of Outworld very nearly fell into complete chaos after the death of Shao Kahn. From the ashes of this great power sink came a new emperor of Outworld: Ko'tal Kahn and his Osh-Tekk warriors. Xipe Tezcat was but one of these warriors, and fought valiantly for the glory of his emperor. When the prized amulet of the deposed Elder God, Shinnok was stolen from Kotal, Xipe Tezcat was one of the many soldiers sent to Earthrealm to reclaim it. When it was revealed that the amulet had actually contained Shinnok, who was now rampaging across Earthrealm, Xipe and the rest of Kotal's forces retreated back to Outworld to prepare for Shinnok's inevitable invasion.

A freak accident while traveling between Earthrealm and Outworld stranded Xipe in a different universe entirely. This universe was almost completely different from Xipe's homeworld; it looked almost like Earthrealm, but with an unusual amount of magic and magical technology. Orcs, elves, dwarves, ghouls, and ancient spirits lived and worked alongside humans and cyborgs. This was Seattle, twenty years after The Awakening. Xipe barely eked out a living amongst the thousands of homeless in Seattle, fighting for his life against organ-hunters, coked-up Street Samurai, and sinister shamans looking for their next sacrifice. Without a SIN or any augments at all, Xipe lived as a criminal. Still, Xipe clinged to life, hoping to one day find a purpose again. His determination paid off one day, when he took a mercenary job for an unknown Mister Johnson. It was a simple task: deliver a package to someone, don't get caught in the process. Xipe completed the task effortlessly, and handed the package to his target, a strange man in a strange black uniform.

In one swift motion, the strange man stuck Xipe with a syringe full of malevolent chemicals. Xipe briefly attempted to save himself, before collapsing. The strange man, grinning, activated his teleporter and brought Xipe through a portal. Shadow Eternity had its newest recruit. When Xipe woke up, he was given an ultimatum: join Shadow Eternity or die. Obviously, Xipe took the former option, and so was given Shadow Eternity's standard-issue equipment and training. Born for the military, Xipe took to the training like a dove to the air, and passed at the top of his class. From there, Xipe was sworn in as an official soldier, and was promptly put on guard duty. Shadow Eternity is generally not known for using its human resources well, and Xipe was no exception. Skilled and motivated, Xipe was relegated to wandering the halls of Shadow Eternity's headquarters, searching for an intruder that would never come. At least, with all this free time, Xipe learned of a very good pizza place in a little-known universe. This pizza place, known as Freddy Fazbear's Pizzeria, was the premier hangout for all mooks in Shadow Eternity. Away from the prying eyes of Shadow Eternity's higher-ups and filled with sympathetic allies, it was the best place a Shadow Eternity mook could eat at.

Xipe only learned of Shocker+'s inception on its third day of existence, when he had managed to get off guard duty and get some R&R at his favorite pizza place. Frustrated by the indignation of being a security guard for an impregnable position, Xipe very quietly joined Shocker+, and volunteered for a free class taught by none other than Captain Ginyu himself. The class consisted almost entirely of working on Space Station 13. Filled with chaos, combat, death, and destruction, Xipe was definitely in his element. Twenty-four hours in the multiverse's time translated to fifty shifts on Space Station 13, and Xipe died horribly on nearly every one. Xipe spent time as a mighty wizard, a menial worker, a syndicate operative, as a fearsome xenomorph, and many other roles and jobs in his time spent here, and at last became Robust. With a spring in his step and a gift box from Captain Ginyu in his arms, Xipe returned to Freddy Fazbear's Pizzeria. The gift box contained nothing but a set of blue robes, a bottle of Rogaine, and a large wooden stick. Not wanting to disappoint his teacher, Xipe applied the Rogaine to his face. As if by magic, a flowing white beard appeared on Xipe's face. When he put on the robes, he felt his very being change dramatically. When he held the stick, it transformed into a mighty wizard's staff. Magic flowed through his veins like water rushing through an anthill, changing Xipe's life forever. Xipe's mind was twisted and shifted by the same magical forces that changed his body and facial hair. His personality was altered to fit a more wizardly mindset. Spells and rituals wormed their way into his memories. Even his name was replaced by the foul magics corrupting him. The process very nearly drove Xipe mad, and now he spends most of his time drinking heavily and desperately attempting to recover from his wizardly trauma.
Faction: Shocker+
