[@JohnSolaris] Nice read, though convoluted. Your attempt to rationalise magic has kinda turned it into an extremely abstract science, because magic by definition is something unexplainable. This much wording kinda ruins the whole magic feel of it and turns it into more of a Last Airbender x science fiction dealio.
Well, I did put in the science fiction tag... It was always my intention to turn magic into a science. I've always felt that magic was not sufficiently explained in usual works of fantasy, as I usually approach things like how a scientist would; I do not believe that there is anything truly unexplainable in the world. The goddess in the introduction even said that the powers she granted to the player characters are only called "magic" to the humans because they're outside humans' current understanding of science. If you feel that this ruins the feel of magic being "magic", then we might have some fundamentally different viewpoints on a number of things. I'm not here to look for a debate, though; there's no point in arguing whose take on magic is better. However, magic is going to continue to be treated like a science throughout the whole game, because that's the way I like it. If you don't like this kind of thing, I suggest you reconsider whether you want to join the game; I don't know if this is a dealbreaker for you or just a minor complaint.
