She smiled and said, “I can make it,” before frowning, “I just need to fe-” she paused cutting herself short, “eat first” she said as she moved away from him. She ran and leapt out of the cave disappearing into the forest as she set off to find larger game to consume. She didn’t want to be weak when she arrived at his home. So as she consumed another animal she thought maybe she had ate too much but she needed to be prepared. She moved towards the stream and cleaned her face of the blood and returned to the cave. She was surprised to see him ready to leave. She pocketed the dried rabbit muscle and grabbed her things, glad that she had been prepared for a fight so now leaving the cave was easy. She chewed on the rabbit jerky and giggled at her own thoughts as she struggled to keep up with Zayden. Daylight was not her friend.
