Grant sighed, standing and staring at the closed door before turning and walking out of the room. Adelisa was fine. If not fine, she was alive, and she was pouring her heart out to Jared and Delilah. Jared, the guy she'd always thought her rival. And while he ached to talk to her, she clearly didn't want him, and he figured it made sense, although he didn't know how things had gotten to this again when they'd worked things out. She was upset and suicidal, but he was the one who'd watched her make out with his best friend. The entire situation was one he couldn't figure out. And mad as he was at Hunter, he could only hope he and Amelia had worked things out. Great. The vacation had turned out just fine for them, and here he was. He opened the door of the condo, walked to the fridge, got a bottle of vodka out and sat at the counter of the kitchen. He raised the bottle to his lips and took a long drink. Jesus, he wanted to stop feeling like shit. He kept at the bottle until it was empty, then got another one from the fridge although the trip to the fridge was a little more awkward that time around. Halfway through the second one, his mind was a slur of images, none of them from the past few days. Then a picture of Adelisa in his mind, laughing and pulling him into a pool, clear as day. He groaned as finished the bottle, then got up unsteadily and stumbled to his room, miraculously managing to avoid breaking anything on the way. Actually, he'd broken two bottles on the counter with an ungainly sweep of his hand while getting up, but the event hadn't registered in his mind.
