The Tower is the world and will be the setting of the RP. There are currently 135 confirmed Floors, though the Zahard Empire ( First conquerors of the Tower ) has only expanded up to the 134th Floor, as Zahard has yet to conquer the 135th Floor. Each Floor is the size of the North American continent, making the Tower roughly 6.5 times the size of Earth. The Tower is divided into three parts: the Inner Tower, the Outer Tower and the Middle Area. Of the world outside the Tower, next to nothing is known. The RP will mostly be taking place within the Inner Tower. [hider2=Inner Tower] Inner Tower is where the selected Regulars climb the Tower. The Ruler of each Floor decides on a series of tests, specifics of which are decided by the Test Director and then held by Test Admins and other staff. Regulars must pass all of the tests on a Floor and then they go up to the next Floor. The only exception is the Forty-Third Floor where there is no Guardian because Enryu killed it. So, everyone has to take the staircase in the Middle Area to reach the next Floor. Regulars must take the exams to reach the next Floor until the 20th Floor and they can go in and out of the Middle Area after the 20th Floor. If they wish to, they can settle in the Middle Area. As a Regular, they are entitled to certain rights. Regulars, who fail on 1st and 2nd Floor or give up climbing the Tower after they've reached the 3rd Floor, are stripped of their rights and are sent to the Middle Area. This is likely so they can return home as it can be used to travel between the Inner and Outer Tower. However if they give up climbing the Tower after 20th Floor, they will have better status than normal residents in Middle and Outer Tower. Anyone who reaches the 134th Floor becomes a Ranker { I will talk about this in a bit } [/hider2] [hider2=Outer Tower] The Outer part of the Tower acts more of a residential area. This is where people are mostly born and live here for the majority of their lives. Only when residents are selected by the Guardians of the Tower is when they may enter the Inner Tower, and have a chance for their dreams to come true. [/hider2] [hider2=Middle Area] Between the Inner Tower and Outer Tower is the Middle Area, which can be usd to travel between the two by certain privledged people. Its size is generally smaller when compared to the Outer Tower but its size vary with each floor level. The standard of living is much better. Both Regulars and Rankers can live there. However, Regulars only earn the right of living there by themselves or with their family members once they reach 20th Floor. This means that people who are not Regulars can live there too. Those who've permission to operate businesses in the Middle Area, are also allowed to stay there or to enter the Middle Area. Having children in the Middle Area is generally forbidden, unless given special consent. The Workshop, a special place where powerful weapons are made, is usually found in the Middle Area.[/hider2] [hider2=The Top] The current accessible top of the Tower is the 134th Floor. There is at least one more confirmed Floor above that - 135th Floor. The Guardian of the 135th Floor is said to be extremely hostile and nobody has been able to defeat it or pass its test yet, which is why the current "top" of the Tower is the 134th Floor. It is said that the one who reaches the top will be able to see the stars, due to the fact that all of the skies in the Tower are artificial constructs made of Shinsoo.[/hider2] Little is known about Outside of the Tower and going out there is virtually impossible. Usually, Irregulars come from Outside the Tower. [hider2=Rules of the Tower] 1. There are Guardians for each Floor (except the Forty-Third Floor) and they have control over the Shinsoo on their Floor. Note: everyone in the Tower requires Shinsoo to breathe (including all Irregulars) as Shinsoo replaces oxygen and water (substances which constitute the atmosphere outside the Tower). 2. Without a Guardian, a Ruler can't rule. The reason is unknown for now though it may be possible it's part of the contract Zahard made with Headon. 3. There are Rulers for each Floor (except the First Floor and the 43rd Floor) and they rule over their Floors under the permission of the Guardians. The Rulers are all High Rankers or above. 4. Other than the Ruler, it is likely the rest of the Staff (Test Directors, instructors, etc.) are found in the Inner Tower as they have to carry out or watch over the tests or perform other tasks on the Floor. 5. In the Inner and Outer Towers, you need a contract with the Guardian to manipulate Shinsoo without a special item. An example is Ho's nightmare where he was was seen juggling 2 baangs of Shinsoo lights to entertain his friends before the children were brutally murdered. It is quite possible there are jobs within the Outer Tower which utilise Shinsoo manipulation. It is also very likely some of the Tower inhabitants use Shinsoo in their daily lives, with or without a special item. 6. The Tower is populated by creatures also known as Shinheuh (God Sea Aquatic Animals). Shinsoo is characterized as water and Shinsoo fills everything so figuratively, one is always within the sea of Shinsoo. Thus, every species of creature within the Tower is a Shinheuh. [/hider2]
Some terms to know
Regulars: A being chosen by Headon and permitted by the Zahard Empire to climb the Tower. The Regulars must take a series of Tests every time they climb a Floor. And due to the difficulty and nature of the complex testing system on the 2nd Floor (Floor of Test), many fail there which means they are stripped of their rights. And the failed Regulars are likely teleported to a Floor or their Floor of origin in the Outer Tower or outside of the Tower after notifying the staff they've finished preparations and are ready to go back home. When one becomes a chosen Regular and enters the Inner Tower, there is no rule that one must keep their outside name. In fact, most Regulars use aliases when registering on either the 2nd Floor or on each Floor and this likely counts as their right to maintain anonymity or a right to use a name of their choice. They are also protected under the Tower's Rules upon entering the Inner Tower and in turn, are expected to abide by a set of the Tower's Rules in exchange for this set of rights. Regulars who pass the 2nd Floor's test usually pass the tests up until the 20th Floor. Once again on the 20th Floor, Regulars are chosen. Since taking a test requires a lot of points (money) and due to the increase in difficulty, they say there are a lot of Regulars who give up on the 20th Floor. It's said that even if they've given up, their "premium" status as former Regulars helps out a lot in their daily needs. Once a Regular has reached the 134th Floor, they become a Ranker Ranker: A being who has reached the top of the Zahard Empire (currently 134th Floor) and has been given a Rank ( Not to be mistaken with the Ranking system ). Rankers are considered to be gods in the Towers and are usually the strongest beings in the Tower. Rankers are sometimes Directors or Testing Administrators of Floors. - High Rankers: If a Ranker's ranking is in the top 1% of total Rankers, he/she can become a High Ranker (하이 랭커, hai raengkeo). There are about 1000 High Rankers in total. High Rankers are often described as gods among gods Irregulars: Someone who was not selected from within the Middle and Outer Towers to climb the Tower through Headon's normal selection of Regulars, but who entered the First Floor from the outside. Irregulars are highly looked down upon and usually recieve much hostility from the Regulars of the Tower. It is most likely like this becuase they have opened the door themselves of their own will" and their act goes "against the Tower's Laws". In addition, they violate the restrictions set by the Guardians when manipulating Shinsoo and this is likely considered further proof of their violation of the Tower's rules. "Irregulars have all brought great change" and "chaos into the Tower" and "all the people in the centre of the Tower" (assumed to be the Ruling Class and many of those serving the Zahard Empire) tremble at them. During the entire history of the Tower, there have only been 5 Irregulars.

Shinsoo is a supernatural energy that flows through the Tower. Each Floor has areas of varying amounts of Shinsoo density, increasing with each floor. In lower concentrations, its' density makes the substance act like a gas, but in higher concentrations, it behaves like a liquid. At different times, Shinsoo can take on the properties of water, fire, air or light, ect. Shinsoo has an endless list of variations. As it can be so many different things, nothing can be singled out to define Shinsoo or to assign it with a special property. Shinsoo is the "basis of all energy". It is the basis of the Tower and of all living beings within the Tower. It is said that the potential of Shinsoo is limitless. There are 2 ways to control Shinsoo, either with an item or through direct control. However, direct control is very rare so the use of items is common among Regulars. In order to manipulate Shinsoo freely, one must make a contract with the Guardian of each Floor. Shinsoo is also known for stopping the aging process of Regulars and both Rankers, which is why one shouldn't judge by their appearance. For example, a small Ranker kid could easily defeat a giant Regular.

There are five basic positions in a common team. Fisherman The main offence of the battle, Fishermen are to dash into the heart of the enemy force and decimate their forces, usually through physical attacks. Spear Bearer Spear Bearers act like snipers for the team, throwing their spears with deadly accuracy, but they can also serve a purpose similar to the Fisherman's by using their spear like a staff for close-combat. Technically speaking, they take all long-range matters into their own hands. Scout Scouts will usually run ahead and investigate enemy forces for info, then return and deliver the information to the Light Bearers. They also help the Fishermen with offence. Light Bearer Light Bearers store and deliver knowledge to their team-mates while guiding them with the light of their Lighthouse. They are usually the brains of the team and create the strategies to complete each Test. ( A Lighthouse is a cubic box of light, varying with each user which can either store knowledge or communicate with teammates. These Lighthouses can also be used for offense, usually producing wave like attacks ) Wave Controller Wave Controllers are the directors of the battle, aiding their comrades by healing their wounds, annihilating enemy forces or subtly changing the tide of the battle, all through the use of Shinsoo. There are many variations of this Position.

In the Tower, Weapons, Inventory Items, Wands, Pockets, Lighthouses, Mobiles and even the different skills mastered by Rankers and Regulars (e.g. Intelligence, Weapon Mastery) are all given ranks according to their level.

Hooks are an uncommon type of weapon in the Tower. They are generally used to pull, stab and crush. A basic example is "hooking" the opponent in order to restrict his/her movements. Hooks usually don't increase in length, but some do. The Arms Inventory is one of the three major kinds of inventories in the Tower. It is used for storing weapons.Arms Inventory is the basic armament used by all Fishermen, but it is not restricted from use by other Positions. Arm Inventories are customised for the storage of each user's weapons. They are not limited to what weapon they can hold, as they have shown to also hold bombs. Capable of turning invisible. An example of an Arms Inventory is An Observer is a modified Ball used by Scouts. They collect visual data and pass the information on to both the Scout himself and also to allied Light Bearers, who in turn analyze these data and coordinate their own team accordingly. They are able to illuminate the darkness and is also able to project a hologram. They are also capable of helping Light Bearers using Flow techniques. Capable of turning invisible, but will not work when invisible. An example of an observer is Needles are one of the most common weapons in the tower, but also one of the best. They are thin spikes, generally used to pierce and stab. One reason the Needle is the most basic weapon in the Tower is that piercing and thrusting attacks receive less Shinsoo resistance, and are technically more aerodynamic(able to move better in Shinsoo). A sword will have to break through more Shinsoo due to having a greater surface area. They are usually used by Fisherman and Scouts. A Pipe is a Arms Inventory for Spears only. It is used by the Spear Bearers to carry multiple spears at a time. Pipes are known for being very heavy. Capable of turning invisible A Reel is a spool (a cylinder) used for winding a long and flexible line which has been fed through the Reel and it can, in turn, allow the Fisherman to adjust the "reach" of the line. A Reel can be manipulated with Shinsoo, to rewind or unwind the Reel and to control the length and direction of the line. The line of a Reel is used to tie and throw weapons such as Needles and Hooks. The line is probably considered as part of the Reel, so a Reel is the main weapon used by Fishermen. A sword is a weapon consisting typically of a long, straight or slightly curved, pointed blade having one or two cutting edges and set into a hilt. A Wand is an item with the ability to create and collect an amount of Shinsoo. The ability to control Shinsoo is very rare, and most Regulars and Rankers use special items when they wish to manipulate larger amounts of Shinsoo. Wands can vary in shapes and sizes, either being an actual wand or long staff or a ring or earring. A spear is the weapon most commonly used by Spear Bearers. They are generally two kind of spears, the ones used for stabbing and the ones used for long range throwing. Some of them are of such quality that they can be thrown vast distances. Spear bearers use a Pipe to carry their spears. Pockets are devices that provide a variety of functions that aid Regulars and Rankers in the Tower. It is seen as a "symbol" of strength for the Regulars. They are generally round in size and are able to go invisible. Enables one to meet with a Guardian to attempt to make a contract. A Pocket's abilities: Invisible/Visible modes Light source Phone function Private communication mode where only certain people are able to listen in or communicate with one another, without anyone else hearing. Timer function Tracking function Translating languages Transmitting messages An Ignition Weapon is a powerful type of weapon used in the Tower. An Ignition weapon is said to be a weapon with a soul. However, instead of thinking that all ignition weapons have souls, it's more accurate to say that they're created using a special kind of Shinsoo. When activated ( by either saying "ignite" or "start engine") it releases vast amounts of power, enhancing its speed, damage, etc. A branch form of Ignition weapons are Compression Weapons. - Compression Weapons: A variant of the Ignition Weapon. Compression weapons often resemble normal weapons, yet actually contain far more mass than their volume would normally allow for. Apparently these weapons can be "decompressed" to their full size, although this has not yet happened in the series. Ignition Weapons are rare in the beginning Floors of the Tower, but become more common as you go up.
