So, uh... I've never been on this side of RPG. -takes a quick look around-

Anyway! I'm here because I need your help. This summer, I've taken it upon myself to get better at drawing! And, to do that, I'd like your help. Now, you might be asking yourself, "How on earth can I help HER?" Well, well, my friend. We might be helping out each other!

Now, let me explain. What I need from you, is either a description or reference picture of your character and an emotion you'd like me to try to give them (angry, sad, blushing, etc). And... what will you get in return? Well, I'll try to draw a picture of your character that looks at the least pretty decent. I'm not out to steal your character, nor do I really need to know too much about the character. I just want to try to get better as an artist. (I'm an English Education Major, this is literally just because I'm having fun with this.)

Here are some examples of what you might get in return.



The first two are of my angel character, Lily. The 3rd is of my newer, unnamed character, and the last is my Zelda OC, Derae.

Image/Description
[Description needs to have hair length, general body shape, normal clothes they might wear, etc.]

Adjectives to Describe Character
[Lonely, Outgoing, Shy, Impulsive][Tell me something about them that might change the way I draw them. For instance, I wouldn't draw a serial killer and a cafe owner the same way even though they might have the same general description.]

Alright alright, let's see how this goes.

Physical description:

Male, skinny, very slightly muscular build (think toned), green eyes, medium-long brown hair (neck length in the back, ear length in the sides, nose length at the front), pseudo post-apocalyptic clothing (woodland BDU shirt, green shemagh worn around the neck (it's that middle-eastern scarf thing) slim dark blue jeans, and combat boots, all in varying states of disrepair), a backpack (I don't really care what kind), a Glock 20 worn on a thigh holster, and an AK-74 slung across the back or held in hand.

I think I may have gone a little overboard there. You don't have to include every detail.

Emotional description: Troubled, withdrawn, detached, cold but not murderous, maybe a hint of sadness.

Also, I'm not sure if this is the right subforum to put this thread in, but who knows.

@TheMadAsshatter Yeah, I'm not really sure either. Do you think it would do better in the Art Gallery SubForm? I just figured since this isn't me posting up my art, rather I'm asking to draw other people's stuff, it would fit better here. -shrugs- I saw someone else doing 'commissions' here for money. -shrugs yet again- If they tell me to move it, I will. Till then, I'll just be lazy and stay here.

Sorry for taking so long to do this. I've been busy with the Fourth of July and family and ye. But, here are your pictures. Sorry if some of them are blurry. My printer is buried under other piles of stuff in my bedroom and I can't get to it to do a scan. So, pictures taken with my phone camera will have to do for now.

Well, that'll teach me to use a picture of myself. I honestly feel slightly offended that you drew my fucking nose and mouth so big.

But other than that, it looks pretty cool. I lol'd a little at the last one.

Also, apologies if that seems narcissistic. Finding pictures of people in post apocalyptic types of scenarios that you like without making your own is surprisingly difficult.

It's fine. You really shouldn't be offended. It's not that I drew them big because I think they are big. I'm just not a very good artist. Hence the 'wanting to work on it' bit. I took quite a bit of time on the nose and mouth and still couldn't get it right. .-.

I get really picky about images too. I'll spend hours trying to find the perfect one. And then feel bad because I feel like I'm stealing it. Which is why I want some practice with some random characters to sort of... expand my bank of things I can draw. So, eventually, I can try to draw my own characters rather than feeling guilty about stealing someone else's art.

I'd give you something to draw if you're not afraid of stepping out of the ordinary as you're requesting, and not drawing a character but putting yourself into the eyes of one. Just one that doesn't necessarily exist in writing in the RP it'll be for. But someone who might be there to - while bored - may have engaged in sketch work of the events happening in the RP.

To go along with this I'll dig up some proportions guides to help out and so maybe anything outside the "anime" style may be explored beyond for this/these prompt(s).
