It was morning, and Luke Nelson yawned as he sat up in his bed. As far as sleeps go, last night’s was pretty good. Unlike most nights, the Guilt didn’t come, and he was thankful for it. It had left him alone to dream about more pleasant things, like food, and boys, and getting promoted to Justice League status. All things considered, it was one of the best nights he’d had, and he was glad that the morning seemed to match his mood: calm and relaxed. Hopping out of the bed, he got changed into his suit, a thing of beautiful craftsmanship designed by Lucius Fox, and quite possibly his most prized possession. Fitting it onto his lean form, Luke checked his belt, making sure that he had a sizeable supply of sand in his pouch. Satisfied that he did, he grabbed his helmet and exited his room, walking out into the large expanse of the Titans’ Tower. It was a major improvement over all of his homes in Gotham. It wasn’t run-down, for one, and he didn’t have to escape when the police came to arrest him for squatting. It was also modern and sleek. Everything looked new, and the very architecture promoted a lavish lifestyle. It was as if he was living in a five-star hotel; one that condoned the training and deployment of teenage superheroes. As far as Luke was concerned, there was nothing wrong with that. “Titans, suit up. We’ve got a bogey and he’s a strong one so I hope you all ate your wheaties this morning.” Rose Wilson’s voice boomed through the tower, and upon hearing her message, Luke hurried to the kitchen and crammed a quick snack into his mouth, paying no mind to Eric, or Evan’s nudity. So much for a relaxed morning. Still chewing, he exited the room, making his way to the hangar. There was nothing like a little morning scuffle.
