Jar kept his phone on him as he took a lengthy run through the woods and ending it along the beach. The sun was just beginning to set when he finished running and he decided to take a quick shower in one of the beach hut showers to rinse the sweat off. The soap provided smelled like pineapples and coconuts, very pleasant. Smells like this always reminded him of Lila, as she had a bit of an obsession with fragrances. After showering, Jar walked back out onto the beach. Jareth plopped down, shirtless, in one of the lounge chairs. Even though the sun was starting to set, Jar hoped that maybe he could get just enough sun to not look like a tattooed ghost anymore, but not so much that he burned, which usually happened to him pretty quickly. The run had succeeded in clearing his mind, but waking up so early to write that song and the emotional rollercoaster of a day had him weary and exhausted. Jar hardly realized that he was starting to doze until a womans voice woke him up. ”Hey, handsome,” she said and Jar opened his eyes to take a look “You’re the guy that played earlier today. You have a wonderful voice” she purred. “What are you doing out here alone? If I was your girl, I wouldn’t leave you alone on this beach looking and sounding like you do…” she said playfully with a dose of seduction in her voice. She was sitting on the lounge chair next to his, with her elbows perched on her knees. She had sideswept bangs and long black hair with chunky streaks of fire-engine red throughout it. Her septum and left eyebrow were pierced, along with gauged ears. The black and white skull and crossbones bikini revealed that she had a healthy splash of goth-inspired tattoos all over her lithe body. Her make-up was dark and contrasted her pale skin perfectly. If Delilah hadn’t showed up, this probably would have been the girl that Jar would have hooked up with for the week, maybe more… “Lucky for me, you’re not my girl.” Jar said back smoothly. It was a douchebag move, but he knew that if Delilah saw this, her jealously would light the beach ablaze. He wasn’t really ready to fight on their first day back together so, he hoped, as beautiful as this girl was, that she would go away soon. Very soon. “Whatever, prick!” the girl said and stormed away in a huff. Jar smiled and chuckled lightly, that was one of Lila’s favorite things to call him when she was angry with him. He had to admit, though, sometimes it really could be true. Jar glanced at his cell phone, no new messages yet. He wondered how things were going with Dela and yawned. Maybe he could just sleep here under the stars… wouldn’t that be paradise?
