Name: Sean Whitaker Age: 15 Year: Second Disability: Near-blindness. Primary open-angle glaucoma has completely blinded his left eye and he has very limited vision in his right. It's expected he has at most three months before he loses that one as well. Appearance: Personality: Sean likes to read, and right now settles for really large text on his e-reader. He's stubborn and impatient, not very outgoing but not unwilling to make friends either. He plays the piano, and has an extraordinary hearing ability which helps him in his playing. He liked to draw, although now he's considering taking up sculpting with clay. Background: Moved to Japan with his mother two years ago from New York City, right before the symptoms of glaucoma started showing. It deteriorated rather rapidly over the next year, and Sean had a hard time accepting it as well as with settling into the new country. He refused to learn Braille and refused the white cane from the doctor who recommended it when he was diagnosed. Right now he sees just enough to get around, and his good sense of hearing makes it seem almost like he's just fine. However, he hates loud places. Living in the centre of Tokyo was starting to get to him, and his mother sent him to Shea Academy against his will- Sean insisted he was fine, and didn't want to be sent to a 'freak' school. As a result, he's not too thrilled about being there. Sean has no siblings. His parents are together, but his father is based in South Africa. He was always close with his mother, but grew a little distant as the glaucoma progressed. Other Info: N/A
