Hof agrees to what the Cindorayi says about fighting over leadership. Using hand signals to back up his words he says, "Dud united tribes so no more fighting happens." He then agrees to join in the celebration.

Faw introduces herself to the Arsuron stating in her new language that is comprised of a mixture of Snow Brute and Platta, "Faw. Snow Brute... Not from here. From great white." She is referring to the Tundra where her people are.

Dud soon discovers that the copper is a much better material than stone. It is stronger and sharper and even lighter. He orders them to be distributed among the Snow Brutes and for the metal to replace the stone that the Snow Brutes had been using. Weapons and tools are soon of a more brown color. Also, recently hunting Jeks for helmets has become somewhat of a ceremony. Older Brutes take their youth out to hunt for the Jek that is "meant for them" and are left alone to slay and skin the animal. It is considered a right of passage that is done when they mature at 15. The Helmet that is acquired that day will go on to be the only helmet that Brute wears for life.
