Abbie moved around her flat, cleaning up and checking up on the local activities. The Nightwing guy has made a name for himself already, the Gazette was the first to post something about him which caught her eye in the paper. Sitting down at her table munching away at her breakfast, she read the article about the new ‘superhero’ that came to Gotham after Batman vanished. The thought of Batman being gone rolled through her head and she found herself saddened by the whole situation once more. Closing the paper, she pushed it across the table in dislike. Why did Batman leave the city he loved so much? Why would he leave them high and dry? Or bring in the so called ‘back up plan’; this crazy Nightwing guy. Apparently the criminals knew him, for some reason. Even though he was from Bludhaven… Which is where Dick is from! Her mind exploded with questions about Nightwing. Simply because she didn’t know anything really about this so called ‘superhero’ that seemed a lot more reckless than Batman. Did he typically pull people he thought was bad out of windows or did she just catch him on an off night? It would make sense for her to question his actions compared to that of Batman’s but from what she’s heard about Batman (never encountering him herself), she wouldn’t have left the lounge last night without being boggled down with questions and consistently repeating the same things over and over again. Even to citizens who happened to be in the wrong place and the wrong time, they always got hammered with questions before being let go from Batman’s sight. It was understandable because they were there and even when they had nothing to hide, you couldn’t blame them for being a little overwhelmed. Maybe… maybe Nightwing wasn’t such a bad guy… Whether he was a bad guy or not, it didn’t stop Abbie from being him irritating; but hey, could be worse right? Finishing up her breakfast she put everything in the dishwasher and came back out to dining room to find that Dick had responded back to her. No Abbie… She warned herself, There’s no reason to get all uppity and excited. Just, don’t look at it. Wait a while… The blonde did; it wasn’t until 1pm when she looked down at her phone and responded. This time she was out and about enjoying the day and had changed her clothing to fit the day. Sitting at Starbucks in downtown Gotham she took another picture, this time of her with some ever-so-yummy cups of coffee and responded once again with a text massage to him. The baristas behind the counter didn’t juggle the syrup bottles like you did last night but they make some good coffee. If you want a delivery let me know; if you’re unpacking a coffee could be a good booster. I’ll be out and about for the next few hours. Maybe when you’re free next we could practice that bottle juggling. With that she hit send, feeling a bit more confident as she went on talking to him. Talking, they were just talking. Nothing more, nothing less and she was just trying to get to know a new person in town. It’s easier then leaving them in the dark about everything and not even giving them a chance to get to know someone. Dick seemed like a good guy and she hoped that he thought she was a good girl; why? Well because she was. At the same moment more information came from Barbara Gordon. Herrington, Trisha passed away giving birth to a young girl who was taken by her father Greg Herrington who named her Abigail after his mother. Greg was involved in the fire that took out the courthouse caused by the Electrocutioner years back. She was delivered by an unknown source to the adoption center as a baby; found on the back porch apparently. And from there was adopted. Get this; she’s never been around for any of the major attacks on Gotham; Scarecrows gas attack when we shut down half the city. Joker’s explosions taking out the hospitals or Penguin’s arms deals that happened near her old apartment; apparently she’s out of town during those and when Penguin’s done some of the larger arms deals, she’s moved from one side of town to the opposite-- completely away from the scene. I’ll keep digging. ~Barb
