Dan is driven by blood the consumption of it increases his strength, speed, reflex's and intelligence....well more like insanity but the main source of his power is the blood of his pray. The main start of this could be his sudden lost of sanity and his hungry only leaving him to believe to turning to cannibalism to survive which resulted in a psychotic outcome. Dan has also showed signs of recovering from wounds easier.
