- Shotgun - An uncommon weapon but Sgt.Vail has found this a very useful backup weapon, especially in boarding actions fighting within the confines of spaceship corridors & bunkers. Sgt.Vail has utilized her technical aptitude to alter her shotgun making it shorter & more compact without diminishing its combat lethality. (Note: Her training of imperial navy ratings has seen increased usage of this weapon, some of the naval crew even going as far as having their shotguns altered in the same fashion.)

- Garm Pattern Service Bolt Pistol - Sgt.Vails possession of this pistol causes widespread gossip & rumors amongst the rank & file, her distrust of commissars is widely known and it isn't long before people mention the past suspicion that she'd killed commissars on the front-lines for shooting her comrades. Whatever the truth of the matter is the rumors gain her both respect & fear from troops, that said it also puts members of the officio prefectus on edge when in her presence as some want to issue out justice, her attitude towards them doesn't help alleviate this.

Has multiple references & excerpts from both the 'Imperial infantryman's uplifting primer' and 'Tactica Imperium' with slight alterations & improvements on certain details.

- Vails Designs & Maintenance (unpublished) - Natasha Vails collection of notes, schematics, & designs of imperial equipment, weaponry, vehicles, & machinery. Extensive notes on alterations to all gear and arms, designs of explosives & other equipment & machinery, along with incomplete secret schematics of reverse engineered xeno-weaponry recreated from memory. Has some very imaginative and inventive advice & tips that can work in a pinch while in the field along with detailed alterations to improve standard equipment.

[b]->[/b] 1st Torpus redeployed to civilized/hive-world Khon for R&R while awaiting replacements to bring the regiment back up to combat effectiveness. 1st Torpus were soon required to assist in suppressing a local uprising from independent factions that appeared during the transition of the planets status. - Natasha Vail displayed technical aptitude with machinery and local PDF vehicles, Received limited training and induction from local members of the Adeptus Mechanicus as a result, however attitude against bionic replacements & her personal dislike towards the "cogboys" prevented further advancement or transfer into the Adeptus Mechanicus, that and general disinterest leaving her guard unit. Reprimanded for several disciplinary infractions and was assigned as a general staff driver for several months as punishment, apparently she amused someone of rank with her anti-techpriest ranting.
(Note: Her continued interest in machinery upset planet-side members of the Adeptus Mechanicus ranking members going so far as to proclaim it heretical due to her opposition to proper treatment of the machine spirit & lack of reverence to the machine god.)

[b]->[/b] 1st Torpus redeployed to new theater of operations however deployment was interrupted & ships were redirected to reinforce PDF forces failing to contain unknown fast-hitting threat limited Intel was available at the time due to swiftness and thoroughness of the fighting. Natasha Vail's squad was shot down when their valkyrie transport took ground fire crashing into outskirts of a city within the combat zone. - It was here a wounded and disorientated Natasha Vail encountered an inquisitorial kill-team designated as the '29th Cadia' (a unit name the inquisitor kept out of respect for the unit he requisitioned from his first field investigation) Corporal Vail inadvertently assisted the 29th kill-team by overpowering her lasrifle allowing her to fire off hotshots (and promptly depleting the lasguns powerpack) opening flanking-fire upon several kabalite warriors not causing much or any damage to them she succeeded in distracting them momentarily allowing the pinned down 29th inquisitors group to act the inquisitor leading several space marines under his charge in an assault killing all of the distracted kabalite warriors in CQC the inquisitors 29th came to the aid of corporal Vail & the surviving members of her squad at their crash site as the 29th had long lost track of the haemonculi they were hunting. - Awarded: Order of the scarlet wing & Crimson skull.

[b]->[/b] 29th sent to investigate Tau influence - ***Assignment Details Classified*** Combat soon erupted between local PDF and guard regiments against Tau sympathizers and their overseers after the apparent assassination of an Ethereal, several Water Caste diplomats & ambassadors, not to mention their personal guards & escorts. After some fierce combat & imperial propaganda the planet was cleansed of Xeno influence and firmly back within the god emperors control. ***The 29th's assignment was designated a resounding success, and the 29th was redeployed before the worst of the fighting occurred.*** (Corporal Natasha Vail had a very close call against a Kroot warrior and now has first hand account of their CQC abilities, is still in awe of the distance & height they can leap not to mention their combat capabilities, has vowed to repay debt to one of the 29th's space marines for saving her life.)

(Note: Natasha Vail was reprimanded for disciplinary infraction regarding her use of & repeated interest in reverse-engineering a tau pulse rifle. The item in question was seized & transferred to Adeptus Mechanicus members of the Ordo Xenos inquisition branch. - Additional Note: Natasha was again reprimanded upon discovery & a half dismantled Tau pulse carbine was also transferred over to the Ordo Xenos along with all of her notes regarding it. 29th Inquisitor warned she was pushing her luck & not to mess with heretical tech off the battlefield)

[b]->[/b] 29th sent to re-capture a rouge Cruiser transporting a vip, Upon discovery of corruption after daring boarding action Natasha proved invaluable bypassing on-board security points, defenses & security doors allowing the team to breech the ships bridge quickly before the entirety of the ships crew became aware of their presence when alarms eventually went off. Finding the Vip was the source of the corruption and any on-board loyalists long dead the 29th soon found their ship wasn't going to be alone for long as it was on course to a rendezvous point. After quick thinking, rushed CQC through the ship, some amateur engineering and jury-rigging of the ships engines, the 29th hurriedly disembarked shortly before the Cruiser was scuttled and its core overloading resulting in an explosion which damaged a dozen chaos ships that appeared out of the warp before they could get defenses up. The co-ordinates of the enemy ships appearance was relayed to the imperial navy however by the time they responded the chaos ships where long gone.

[b]->[/b] 29th stationed on an Agri-World for R&R while rearming & awaiting new transfers until their ship arrived, unfortunately for them the peace was short lived as the planet was struck by the Curse of unbelief spread by chaos worshipers of Nurgle the 29th was forced to hold out with what remained of the local PDF and adeptus arbites in an imperial fortress which also housed the planets main Administratum building not to mention the handful of civilian survivors that managed to flee into the fortresses protection early on from the immediate vicinity. After a few days of constant fighting the situation grew evermore desperate and some of the civilian survivors had also turned from the disease attacking from within resulting in even more casualties mostly civilian and arbites.

In an unpopular effort to rescue other pockets of PDF forces holding out scattered throughout the area the 29th lead an armor column to linkup and evacuate the stranded forces to bring them back to the military fortress. Although the armor column was mostly made up of disused chimeras, centaurs, a couple of hellhounds only one of which had a functional turret, a samaritan, & a Leman Russ exterminator variant which Corporal Vail & Specialist Lang repaired & operated their performance in action made the inquisitor as-well as other members of the 29th comment they should of been in an armored regiment instead of an infantry regiment (1st Torpus). After rescuing all they could & no shortage of desperate fighting they managed to return to the fortress where they managed to hold out long enough for orbital support & rescue after a short meeting with newly arrived members of the Ordo Sepulturum who'd taken an interest in the events that occurred. The 29th were transported elsewhere pending a new assignment. - Natasha Vail was given a field promotion to sergeant & Awarded the administratum medal & eagle ordinary medal for her efforts.

[b]->[/b] After receiving new transfers the 29th was deployed to an ongoing conflict near the eye of terror, This was Natasha's first time as a squad leader having been put in charge of several new members to the inquisitors 29th unit having been running repeated training drills (a tad overzealously being new to it) on-board their transport vessel to the planet. Unfortunate for both Natasha and the 29th they had to deploy in Valkyries from low orbit while under-fire from flak & land in a 'Hot' landing zone on the outskirts of a local city as the spaceport had long been overrun & heavily defended by heretical factions. 

29th deployed and immediately assaulted hostiles in the immediate area however local corrupted PDF forces had the area zero'd-in with mortars in a desperate attempt to rush the nearest buildings for cover the 29th was utterly scattered and Natasha was wounded by shrapnel from a nearby mortar-round blast and was dragged to a nearby building by her subordinates who clumsily applied medical aid. Misfortune struck further when the building they where in was hit and half the roof caved-in Natasha was knocked unconscious & for sometime throughout their continued operations after regaining consciousness suffered from a concussion despite which she successfully led a flanking maneuver taking out one of the mortar crews and guards, while the rest of the 29th preforming similar feats elsewhere securing an Lz & supply route for reinforcements to arrive in an attempt to retake the city.

Upon continued investigation during lethal urban combat, the 29th found the corruption of the ruinous powers more deep routed than anticipated albeit too late as loyalist guard units turned on each other spreading further dissent & confusion. In a continuous hunt that lasted several days in the field the 29th pushed on trying to find the chaos leaders & sorcerers with limited success they found Intel of a underground bunker deep in the center of the city where several reports originated from early on prior to the imperial reinforcements arrival, however several members of the 29th turned on their comrades as they headed to the Intel's location resulting in the Inquisitor being injured, two 29th members killed, and several severely wounded including Natasha's close friend Irene Lang who was medevaced after taking the blast from a frag to her left side losing most of her arm & leg.

The inquisitor & remnants of the 29th soon linked back up for their assault on the bunker despite most of them being walking wounded which ultimately resulted in the execution of a chaos sorcerer in the service of slaanesh, after some length tunnel fighting & illusions/visions suffered by some of the 29th distrust running high after earlier betrayals shortly before the execution of the chaos sorcerer, Sergeant Vail suffered from heretical illusions along with her injuries & combat fatigue which resulted in ***Redacted*** despite which the remnants of the 29th successfully executed the sorcerer, However heretical forces where en-route to the location in great overwhelming numbers the still planet-side 29th members had to hastily vacate the bunker and rendezvous with a evacuation transport in the city center which they barely made it to having to carry several members the whole way including the again unconscious Sergeant Vail. Shortly afterwards the Imperial navy commenced orbital bombardment of the city in an attempt to destroy enemy numbers & salvage the rest of the planet.

[b]->[/b] 29th reassigned for debriefing & interrogation by Inquisitorial authorities. After long & arduous interviews lasting over several weeks all surviving members with the exception of one, (Tigan an ultramarine who'd been hearing voices and seeing visions was given to the Ordo Hereticus) were given the green light and would return to active duty after recoveries. Specialist Irene Lang received the crimson medallion for her severe wounds, honorably discharged from imperial service & sent home back to the planet Torpus.

Sergeant Natasha Vail was interviewed by a psyker and was cleared of ***Redacted*** however received disciplinary action from 29th inquisitor upon the discovery of a far lesser crime of fraternization but notably was related to the previous suspicion of ***Redacted*** (Inquisitorial Note: Future occurrences of disciplinaries for fraternization unlikely due to the permanent transfer of former specialist pvt.Lang).

Sergeant Natasha Vail was awarded the macharian cross for her squads actions during the previous campaign & was unofficially given the steel aquila by an older veteran in the 29th upon Natasha's return to active duty.

The ***Redacted*** was eventually apprehended and brought before an inquisitorial interrogation specialist which revealed ***Details Classified*** across multiple planets throughout the Imperium in order to deal with the multiple lines of investigation the 29th split its resources into cells/squads to pursue them wherever they led.

[b]->[/b] After numerous unknown events most of the 29th went dark and vanished with little trace including the inquisitor it has been some years since last whereabouts or contact has been made. Only a handful of members reported in after their assignments where completed after-which they where reassigned to different units in short resulting in the disassembly of the 29th cadia kill-team. For her dedicated service to the Inquisition Natasha was offered an honorable discharge & passage home. After a short time on Torpus as a civilian Natasha Vail choose to return to active service, someone of rank within the departmento munitorum not wanting to waste a skilled veteran who'd served with the inquisition to a newly formed guard regiment has seen her records back into the hands of the inquisition for her future assignment.

Sergeant Natasha Vail has been temporarily assigned to a backwater space station awaiting orders to arrive for her transfer. In the meantime she has overtaken the role of drill-sergeant training the imperial navy ratings garrisoned on the station in combat & emergency drills, She's even been arranging mock battles between the garrison forces & the enlistees from any warships docking for resupply or repairs some minor gambling does occur but officers overlook it as it helps with moral & ultimately heightens combat capabilities of the crew. Also it never hurts for the officers to have an excuse for running extra exercises on-board if they lose a mock battle resulting in less grumbling from the ranks. Natasha has been awarded the merit of terra for continuing military service to the imperium.
