Seeing Cateline notching her arrow the three wolves standing between the encircled Angriff and the party charged at her. Zoltan, who was on the standby at the bottom of the hill since the start of the fight, killed one of them with a swift attack of his spear, while the other stopped their charged and backed off slightly, partially because of Zoltan's attack but also because Azalea moved in between them and the ranger. 

With this opening Jorn's maneuver to move behind the wolf on Angriff's left was accomplished without much interference, but once he charged at the wolf in attempt to trample him the wolf and another one beside him turned in his direction. The horse under Jorn, frightened by their howls and barks, stopped and reared in panick, throwing Jorn out of the saddle. Fortunately for him the snow cushioned the fall so nothing was broken and no vitals were injured. Still, the pain assailed his body- he will have trouble moving for a while. The wolves also didn't miss this opportunity. Ironically, the one Jorn charged at now charged at him and bit into his sword-holding arm while the skirmisher was still lying prone on the ground, dazed from pain. 

The second wolf also attempted to approach fallen Jorn, but as Angriff made his way to help his comrade his steed hit the wolf and pushed him to the side. Then, once the knight approached Jorn and the wolf, he slashed his sword and killed the beast while charging, freeing the skirmisher's sword-arm. The other three wolves who were encircling Angriff followed him to Jorn, but the one who was closest to the lying skirmisher and the knight had his head pierced by Cateline's arrow, giving a few extra second to Jorn to get up. The two wolves feasting on Jacob now seemed to have finished their meal and began moving towards Jorn and Angriff as well.
