+Nation Name: United Federated Thailand-Philippines-Malay States or UFS for short. +Leader: President Miguel Mendoza +Allegiance: Allies +Government: Democracy +History: In this version of alternate history, the Philippines, Malaysia and Thailand formed an alliance in order to repel and protect each sovereign nation's residents and independence. In 1898, when Emilio Aguinaldo saw the unabridged version of the Proclamation of Assimilation, he reached out for his long time allies in South East Asia. Chulalongkorn the Great of Thailand and the Malay King of Johor, Sultan Abu Bakar Ibni Al-Marhum Tun Temenggung Raja Daing Ibrahim, responded to his calls for independence. Thailand has never been invaded by any other state while the Malay people have fallen, leaving only the Kingdom of Johor independent from British or Dutch rule. In this timeline, Sultan Abu Bakar didn't travel to Britain, only traveling to France, Germany and other states in Europe. As a result, Abu Bakar had never befriended Queen Victoria. The Kingdom of Johor is the last of the Malay governed state. Both of these powers expressed their concerns over the invasion of the Philippines, Chulalongkorn because of the obvious threat of America and Sultan Abu Bakar Ibrahim because of Western influence in South-East Asia. But due to the fact that America by this point has become a very powerful state, if they showed support now, the Kingdom of Siam and Johor is in threat. Due to this, the Americans continued to invade the Philippines. After six months, the invasion was over. Due to the key defeats in Manila, Ilo Ilo and in the island of Mindanao, the whole of the Philippines fell under American rule. Astonishingly, the Philippines thrived under USA rule, and eventually in 1909, the Philippines gained sovereignty Gaining military supply and a small, but noteworthy, attachment of troops. With it's newfound independence, the Philippines built up its army. Aguinaldo also renewed old alliances, allying with the Malay Kingdom of Johor and the Kingdom of Siam. By 1914, due to the recession of the British from Malay, the United Force swept through Malay, taking over. As the three states intertwined with each other, they eventually formed into one state by 1930. With US supplied arms and weaponry, the UFS became a powerful force in a limited amount of time. Of course, not everything was fine and dandy. The island of Bali, a heavily Hindu influenced state in the Malay islands, has shown resistance against the UFS. Progress has been slow and painful, the number of heavily fortified camps on the island seemed innumerable and the losses is climbing. The Muslims in the island of Mindanao have also opposed to being part of the UFS, refusing to become one with a state that they claim "are sucking up to Western influence." A number of terrorist groups have been founded in Mindanao, the most prominent being MILF. On the eve of World War 2, the UFS proclaimed it's alliance with the Allies. +Culture: The UFS is an extremely diverse state, with different religions like Catholicism, Hinduism, the Muslim religion, Buddhism and many more. Due to the nature of how it was made, the UFS are proud of the fact that their are no religious, racial or any segregation in the state. The UFS have a lot of hate of colonialism (which is quite hypocritical because of the situation in Bali and Mindanao) which is due to the fact that two of the former States in the UFS have been conquered by an outside power. +Military: The UFS military is heavily reliant on guerrilla tactics, traps, tactical retreats and tracking. Due to their sparse Air Force, the UFS relies more on their navy and their numerous troops. In Europe, you will never see a group of UFS soldiers larger than a company, due to the fact the soldiers do not work well in a clumped group, marching in formation and waiting to their death. They are more likely to spread out, in various strike formations, and set up traps for the enemy to come to them. A lot of the men going to Europe, a select few I might add, have already experienced warfare of some kind in the form of Bali. With the few Light Tanks they have, the UFS hold them dearly and only attach them to very experienced companies. Soldiers are equipped with M1 Garands and Thompsons. The UFS is very light infantry based. Soldiers wear light environmental camouflage (it depends where the soldier is fighting), metal capped boots, and a beret. Most put face paint on while a sadistic few wear dark red demon masks to intimidate or frighten the opponent. Alongside their primary weapons they have .45 pistols, grenades and rope. They have various tracking tools. The UFS Navy on the other hand is a different matter entirely. Due to the possible threat of Japan, the navy needs to be strong. While the UFS was powerful, it ain't a superpower and it couldn't sustain carriers or any type of submarines. Instead, the Navy focuses more on fast Light Attack boat squadrons escorting single Battleships. The Battleship more or less serves as a protection to the smaller ships who will try and board the other ships. Of course, this strategy is not always effective. Sometimes, you will see three or maybe four of these Battleships hammering the enemy while the Attack Boats swarm the various ships.
