For my character's power, I was thinking of using heliokinesis, or the ability to absorb, generate, and manipulate solar energy. Would that be acceptable? Thanks in advance! :D
Well, you can be immune to sunburns and stuff like that as a level 1, absorb and store an amount solar energy as a level 2, emit it as a diffuse light source as a level 3, and as a focused beam (LASER!!!) as a level 4, but to generate the energy yourself (meaning you would be a walking star) you'd need to be level 5. Use that as a guideline. Also, as a downside, your character will never get a tan, hahaha.
Yeah I wasn't sure if I could say that mine had the power of hydrokinesis (basically control over water molecules)
I don't see why not? There is a girl at Tokiwadai that can do that, and esper powers aren't supposed to be unique (their quirks are, however), so you can do it if you want without problem.
Interested as well! Edit: Just wanted to confirm, but references to canon events and characters (eg: Mentions of the Level 5s) are allowed as long as it does not involve direct controls of canon characters against the canon, right?
Name: Gender: Age: 13 School Grade: 2nd grader, middle school School Name: Organization: None Esper Level: 4 Appearance: search in pixiv, put a link here Personality: (at least a short paragraph, please) Bio: (same as above) Esper Power: Remote Crack - is capable of controling and cracking into computers from distance, but she/he needs to target the general location of the computer(s) with a laser pointer. (As an example of "general location", "a certain car" would be considered as a general location, but "a certain building" wouldn't.) Skills: (things your character can do not related to their power) Equipment: (things you usually have with you) Other: (anything not covered by the above, example: theme songs)

Up to now it seems good, but more like a level 3 power, IMO, unless the distance is really big, or she can do that to more than one computer at a time. As for your question, I don't have anything about you guys using them in your backstories as long as you're reasonable. Like, it's easy to say that Touma or Mikoto did something good to you on a chance encounter (not meaning you can know them personally), but saying that Accelerator let you live after you spilled coffee on him would be too much of a stretch, unless it's after he took a bullet in the head. Of course you all are free to say that Dr. Gekota has been patching you after fights (since he seems to be the only competent medic in Academy city). The reasons to that are two. The sports festival we will be in is the same as the one in the anime, though the Peter's Cross arc probably won't be happening, to allow you guys to be the heroes, instead of Touma. Meaning that, if the RP progresses after that, we will be sailing AU waters. And, because I don't want to/can't RP most of the canon characters, that's why I'd like you to avoid them as much as possible, unless they are present on the same scene as you. But since I know that part of the interest on Indexverse is because of them you can always ask me if you can meet person X or Y on the streets. But not involve them on the plot, please, just like Touma doesn't make it a habit of ragging random passerbys on his escapades.
