Never said he did. I actually never said he recognized anyone. Just that he didn't recognize them immediately, which can also just mean he has no idea who those people are.

Edit: If you're referring to the names I used in my post to describe the action; That's all it was. Describing the action. Unless my character mutters the name, chances are he doesn't know it.
