Name: Skye Asselta Age: 24 Classification: Supernatural, enhancer. Gifted and educated in healing magic. Personality: An ambitious and goal-oriented young woman, Skye constantly feels an innate pressure to prove her worth both to herself and others. Her standards on both herself and those she work with are very high, and her perfectionist nature can cause her to be an annoyance to work with if the people around her does not have the same attitude—she knows the struggles she has been through, and will let little stand in the way for achieving what she wants to do. Still, Skye remains a thoughtful and perceptive young woman. She does have a hard time trusting people around her, but she thinks, feels and cares a lot about them—perhaps even too much. While she carefully listens to and happily chats with other people, she avoids talking about the depths of herself and her own past. Maybe a way of avoiding her own issues, she simply focuses on others, both privately and professionally. Bio: When Skye’s mother was in her early twenties, she met a charming young backpacking tourist from somewhere in northern Europe while working her usual evening shift at a bar. Although she only remembered his first name, he left her after their single shared night with what would be her first-born daughter. Up until middle school, Skye was raised by her mother in a poor, urban part of upper Connecticut. While Skye’s mother did her best to provide for her daughter, she struggled to maintain a job for a longer time due to her inherent supernatural abilities. Her mother always tried to hide her abilities, believing that she would be better off as a mundane, but her refusal to acknowledge them only caused her to lose control over when and how she used them. Instead, Skye’s mother began relying on men to survive financially. Skye moved with her from apartment to apartment—whenever the men grew tired of her mother's erratic nature spurred by her inability to control herself, she soon found a new man to share her bed and pay her bills. After a couple of incidents involving both drugs and violence, Skye left her mother and went to live with her trusted grandfather who had just moved from Maine into a suburb in southern Connecticut. There, she grew up in peace from her tumultuous childhood, living with the father figure she never had. A retired man, her old grandfather spent his days driving her to school, cooking her dinner and helping her to learn how use the enhancing abilities she inherited from her mother. Skye had, like her mother before her, been ashamed of her abilities, but she failed to hide them from her grandfather. Since he lacked any supernatural traits himself, he soon became an easy and willing target for practising, for he suspected that, like Skye’s mother, his wife had hidden her abilities from him and died without ever recounting them. It was under her grandfather’s care that Skye went to eventually take the test that proved that she was, indeed, a supernatural. Out of guilt that he didn’t take care of his daughter or wife, he saw to it that Skye got the proper education to learn how to use her enhancing abilities, and soon registered her with the government and League of Magic. During this time, Skye flourished and became an outgoing young girl. In the last semester of Skye's final year of high school, however, her beloved grandfather passed away. One day, she stood waiting outside a school building that grew increasingly empty as the afternoon wore on. Upon having decided to walk back home, she met with two police officers that had already taken her grandfather’s body to the hospital. She was never told why he died, and the event took a heavy toll on her. Luckily, however, her grandfather passed on his house and all of his savings for Skye, which enabled her to remain independent from her mother. As soon as she graduated from high school, Skye sold his house and spent the money on her college tuition, refusing to return to the town where her mother lived. Once she graduated from college, Skye sought work at the ASA, hoping that her work there would help other supernaturals from growing up despising themselves like her mother and even Skye herself at one point did. Perhaps resembling her mother more than she knows herself, Skye never had any success with relationships. Instead, she keeps focused on work during the days and meets with her friends at different bars and restaurants during evenings before retreating to the quietude of her own home. Often wears her hair tied up in a messy ponytail.
--- Name: Audrey James Age: 25 Classification: Mundane, but arguably eccentric, seeing as she has highly attuned senses. Both a gift and a curse, her senses allow her to hear, see, smell and feel everything in great detail—often helping her in her work to notice things that others may not, but sometimes making her feel overwhelmed and nauseous. She doesn’t acknowledge that her senses might be eccentric, but simply believes that there is something wrong with the wiring in her nervous system, and has learnt how to take advantage of it. Personality: Sometimes, being with Audrey is like being caught in a whirlwind. One minute, she will be a spontaneous, happy-go-lucky young woman who can't wait to head out on the next adventure, while the next moment, she will crash into retreated silence. Most of her secluded retreats stem from her inability to monitor how her senses perceive the world around her—whenever there is an overload of information, she has a tendency to withdraw, or worse, snap. Nevertheless, since she has learnt how to deal with the majority of what she refers to as her "sensory issues", Audrey most of the time remains an easy-going, carefree girl to be around. She requires a lot of stimulation to avoid being bored, but for Audrey, there is a fine line between just enough and too much. Bio: Audrey was born the youngest of two sisters into a family that seemed to have it all, with her parents working for the government and earning decent wages that paid for a nice house, a couple of cars and family vacations every year. The first time that Audrey realised that something might be a bit different with her was when her parents took her to an amusement park in her early teens. As soon as Audrey saw the hysterically twinkling lights and heard the disturbingly loud music shrieking from the speakers, she felt dizzy. The world started turning faster and faster around her. Before she had a chance to sit down and recollect herself she fainted and didn't wake up until later at the hospital. The incident became the beginning of an investigation initiated by her worried parents, where it eventually was concluded that at least the girl didn't suffer from epilepsy or any psychiatric disorder. Perhaps it was just hypersensitivity or teenage hormones—either way, Audrey and her parents had to accept the doctor's lack of explanation, and went on with their lives, content with that whatever happened that caused Audrey to become nauseous every now and then, there was at least nothing wrong with her. Audrey grew used to her occasional seizures as she learned to control and focus on what of the constant sensational flow was important. Her life returned to normal, or at least until the day that her parents revealed that they were getting divorced. Their divorce became the beginning of a downward spiral—feeling that world that she had learned to grow comfortable in shatter beneath her feet, Audrey spent more and more nights away from home, and developed a worrying tendency to pick less than desirable company. After an incident that nearly cost Audrey her life, her father offered her an internship at his office at a federal agency. It was a desperate, but successful, attempt to get his daughter back on track—she enjoyed the nature of the work and her keen senses proved quite useful. Eventually she was hired full-time and transferred to the ASA. Of course, there are many people that gossip that Audrey only got the job because of her father and his connections, a statement which, although partially true, she is intent on proving wrong.
Audrey is around 5'6", of athletic body build and has dark brown hair and eyes.
