Abilities: Jamie has the ability to cure many wounds and illnesses at great cost to herself. While having to maintain physical or eye contact with the person who’s afflicted, Jamie has to know what’s wrong with the person before her power allows her to heal them. Her powers working as a healer and a pain mediator, Jamie feels the pain and the effects on the wound on herself. While it’s entirely mental, the repercussions feels all too well. Birth place: Houston, Texas History: Born into a conservative family, Jamie grew up in a house of men. While her mother did teach her how a lady was meant to act, her brothers instilled onto her a sense of initiative and strong headiness to always go after what she wanted. Her father taught her that no one was simply going to hand things over freely; the individual had to earn it through their merit. A lesson she’d kept with her throughout her life. It was during her years in middle school did Jamie discover that she had ‘gifts’. When her friend and she were out exploring a state park trail with their families, Jamie’s friend slipped on a rock and scrapped up her knee pretty bad. With their folks not around, the stress from the event caused her mutant side to emerge. The first contact with the powers was something Jamie remembered vividly. Seeing her friend’s leg stitch up and looked unblemished, Jamie felt the searing pain of sliding against the rocks and injuring her leg. When she looked, however, she saw nothing. Swearing a pact of secrecy, her friend, Jillian, never revealed her gifts. Jamie wasn’t naive to the fact that something like this could be problematic if people found out. The vow silence wasn’t meant to last. It was after she finished college, did Jamie see the news about mutants being rounded up all across the country. There were whispers of others like her existing, but she hardly paid attention. She was on her way to medical school, and she had absolutely no ambition to reveal her ‘non-human’ side. The prospect of others knowing and being treated like the mutants getting rounded up terrified her. On top of that, the world regressed into an age of mutual assured destruction. Or what seemed like it. Every country was riled up and aiming their arsenals at one another. Why? Jamie was still trying to figure that one out for herself. Continuing to normalcy, as if the mutants and the war wasn’t enough, they came. Extraterrestrials. Aliens. The world powers temporarily forgot their differences and tried to contact the aliens. Inevitably, they sent their arsenal they’d been saving for each other and directed them towards the visitors in the sky. It was a futile attempt. Over the next several years, death came from the sky and swept over all of the countries. Nations fell while millions died. With infrastructure and order failing, Jamie was forced to flee as she joined a resistance group. Breaking her vow of silence of her mutant status, she continually worked to save those she could while staying alive. Personality: Jamie is the epitome of a proper country lady. While she was raised outside of the life of a true country born, she isn’t afraid to get down and dirty when needed. She’s very goal oriented and will not stop until she completes her goal. In a way, she’s very much a Type A personality. With those she knows, she assumes a relaxed and playful persona highly uncharacteristic of her typical self.
