Ok, well here's what I'm going to say.

Yes to creatures with the qualities you have described, but no to evolution from birds.  If you cut back the lifespan a bit to maybe 200 years or so and re-brand them as a Human subspecies divergent enough that interbreeding is difficult I'll give it a pass.
