Weighing my options. Probably a Rowan, potentially a Black Poplar or Yew.

I plan on playing up the "obscenely wise old sage" trope, should this character come to fruition, so they may exist outside of a court. We could play it up more traditionally, and have Ents be somewhere between tree-like creatures (as in recent fantasy trends) and traditional giants.
