I think I have to drop out a lot of stuff has been going on, but i'll be watching the thread every now and then.
I'm sorry to hear that.
Interested in joining. PM'd to play as a child for Lady Squee, but I will still gladly write up another character if that is a problem.
That role has been taken already, sorry. I read your character but unfortunately an 11-year-old runaway living in the streets of NYC is difficult to accept. I lived in NY and I was once picked up by the police, when I was around 14-years-old, because I was walking alone on a school day in a neighborhood I didn't even live in. Yes, I was cutting class. So, a kid your age walking around, not going to school, not having a place to live, no guardians for 3 years is stretching it. This RP is more realistic than that. And there is no way your character can survive an attack by a muncher without getting herself infected. You will have to edit your character - you can keep the idea of the runaway, but the youngest age I will allow without an adult or guardian is 16-years-old. Edit what you wrote about killing a muncher; keep in mind that we are at the start of the outbreak, zombies are not walking around like you've seen in the series. Also, the infected you will encounter (here) are much healthier and stronger than the body wasting zombies of the series - those zombies have been walking around without food for a long time, they are starving because there is nothing left to eat. In our timeline the zombies are fresher. Imagine a dog attacking you, it will bite you, it may not kill you, and you will most likely fend yourself off, get away, but not without some scratches or being bitten at least once. The same goes for the zombies we encounter. An 11 year old being mauled by a dog will most likely be kill, especially a kid that doesn't have proper meals like your runaway. The smart thing to do when encountering a zombie is to run. To say more, I doubt even my character can survive a one on one with a zombie. Currently only first respondents, police officers, medical staff are seeing first hand these zombies. The CDC is trying to keep control and not have a city with a population of over 8 million panic. Having said that, lets not rush it, lets pace our selves because it will be hell once the outbreak is in full swing. Right now, most people are sick, showing flu-like-symptoms, and going about their daily lives like any other day. The current influenza outbreak, is the first sign of the pathogen entering our bodies. The people dying from the flu are the elderly, children, and people already afflicted by an illness or with weak immune systems. Anyone whose immune system can fight off the "flu" infection will still be infected, hence why even healthy people turn when they die. These are just some tips to keep in mind and please read what others post so that you are on topic about what is going on.
