I'm on my phone so can't really look at the character you suggested, but if you're talking dragons then powers like flight or fire seem some obvious choices, or maybe so that he can turn selective parts into a dragon at first e.g. dragon eyes for sight or dragon skin to resist heat (sorry, don't know a lot about dragons!)
