Lily's fall startled Kris, and even more so when she offered him food, as he noticed Angelo out of the corner of his eye slip away. Definitely suspicious now, Kris thought, but if you want to play this game, fine by me. Though another part of his brain was screaming, don't do it you fool! Feeling his cheeks start to go red, Kris leaned in...and bit down on the chocolate bar. With one hand, he gently loosened Lily's grip & helped her up, and with his other hand took the chocolate bar from his mouth, flourished it in the air before giving her his most winning smile, reserved only for debate tournaments and dealing with other fools in the student body. "There's nothing to apologize for. In fact, forgive ME, for not stepping in to save you from your fall. May I, in apology, ask to have lunch together? I'm afraid I have nothing better to offer you than your generous portion of chocolate, though I remember you came to the school's tutor program one time for help with math; as a certified math tutor I'd be willing to help you on my free lunch today. Oh, everyone's watching us, I suggest you make up your mind before WE cause more of a scene." Kris could barely keep his lip from quivering as he spoke (he could not say the same for his face), as he half-dragged Lily along to keep the line moving.
