"Hey robot, I can fix you up. Won't even ask for caps, I like the work and it's better than bounty hunting. Though I would think you would be more at home somewhere less violent." He doubted the man's motives were altruistic, and judging by the last sentence the man was likely going to try and recruit him. "Yes, I would prefer a less violent place to work, but the last place I worked I discovered that they had betrayed me." The man looked him over. "Your no gutsy over even a handy... Your a custom model or an experimental one. Ought be some place safe, or least with someone who knows your value." The Paladin said setting down his weapons. "You would be better off in BoS that's for sure." Longshot told the robot. "So mind letting fix you up?" A woman also started asking him questions. "What do they call you? You can call me Tasha. Who made you? When were you made? Where were you made? Were you able to talk since the beginning? Hey, is that an arc welder?" He decided to answer their questions. "Yes, I am a prototype by Robco, the Mr. Smarty prototype, designed for engineering and barter. I was constructed before the War, though I was turned off and placed in stasis until a few month ago. A Mr. Handy voice module was part of my original design and yes, that is an arc welder. If you wish to repair me, then we should get out of the main isle." He moved to the workbench near the entrance and removed his repair kit, placing it on the table. "All of the components I've collected for my repair are in there. Because I don't know you, however, I will remain on during maintenance, and will not hesitate to defend myself should you attempt to deactivate or harm me. If you wish to talk during the procedure, however, please explain to me why I should aid the Brotherhood of Steel. I heard what you told her about your mission, but other than desiring the defeat of the Enclave and an appreciation of the music of GNR, I'm not certain that our goals align."
