The Accomplished

A call for the Heroes and Legends that still walk the Earth
Initially, people convinced themselves that this was just an exceptionally cold year. Rather than remaining for only a single month, the snow had stayed for three. Still, this must have happened before. There would be food shortages, but most people should survive. The blizzards were more of an annoyance than anything. The tropical regions that were still able to grow food increased their prices dramatically, taking advantage of the decreased supply in the market. While the lower nobility were suffering, the peasants were hungry. However, when three months turned into five and crops could not be sown during any of the months that normally occupy spring, riots began. Rumors of invasion from the Northern Kings into the Southern Lands were starting to spread. These rumors were false. There was no possible way a feudal monarch could afford to launch an invasion and at the same time keep the growing rebellions in their own lands down. The grain of truth was that those cultures who were used to movement had started planning to move south, Cheifs and Khans alike starting to head to greener pastures with destruction in their wake. Six months in, a letter was sent to all the sovereigns and nobles of the continent. Three great powers had unleashed a combination of divine might and genius magic to place the world under their control. While previously rivals, they had constructed plans to work together the decade before. Additionally, they also agreed to offer demands that were 'reasonable' so that there was a chance that the demands would actually be accepted with minimal resistance. This was done to ensure the possibility of people rebelling in their favor. Hibernas, Dragon God of Ice Guildamarch, Amour of a Thousand Winters Nixla, Witch of Endless Snow Their demands to lift the spell were as follows: -1 Percent of fit men and women to be gifted as slaves each year. -Expansion of personal territory. -A Tithe as a gift to their new overlords. -Hostages from every royal family to be kept as assurance of their new subjects loyalty. Facing growing rebellion, a month later the monarchs of the world begged the heroes and legends that still walked the earth to answer their call for aid. Unable to afford any major offensive operation, this group would be their only chance at removing this problem and avoiding this settlement. Hopefully the accomplished would be able to finish one more task.
There are plenty of sword and sorcery role plays out there, but most of them focus on a young crowds adventures and their ascension to legend. This roleplay focuses on those who have already reached the height of their power. The heroes who have gotten the gold, the glory, and the girl. How does one team up with those who were previously rivals, or maybe lovers? If your family is threatened, do you betray your new found allies?

By normal roleplaying convention, your character should be overpowered. Just make sure that they aren't a walking god and refrain from making them over 800 years old. This is supposed to be their first apocalypse. Also, your character doesn't have to be a 'good' guy, they just have to have some reason to disagree with the ice gods taking over. Here's a sample character sheet but make your own if you want to.
A Title Your Hero has been given

Your Heroes Name
A Quick Description of what they are, Like a Human Fire Dragon lord or something like that Description or Picture, Preferably both Actual Age (Appearance/Mental Age) Race (Angel, Dwarf, ect.) Gender Rise to Power (What the world knows about how you became a legend. If your history and the truth are really far off PM me your characters true story.) Combat Skills, including any signature attacks. Hobbies, useful to questing or not Your Gear Your retinue, (Are you bringing thirty loyal knights? Your family? An Apprentice? No large armies but these old men sure as hell aren't hauling their own tents.) Retirement (What happened after your character got all of the above, where do you live?) Your family. Your character has likely settled down. Any extreme Personality quirks, habits, or maybe just their favorite foods

Not a lot of it, but just a bit of detail so that people have a place to start. The year is 5600
The Universe created the gods, and not the other way around. This means that the universe can continue to grant power if it so chooses. The Primary ways to gain a piece of this power are greatness, partnership, and grants. These are not mutually exclusive. Also, when we are discussing divinity in humans we are discussing a fraction of it, not suddenly being a god. Greatness can come from renown, accomplishing tasks, or being badass. Typical heroes like knights gradually gain this type of divinity. This is the most reliable form of divinity around, and those who wield it tend to be familiar with the benefits they receive. You can also partner up with a divine or partially divine beings in order to gain their strength. Extremely powerful beings like gods will grant you power based on faith and an understanding of their philosophy. Paladins and Bishops strive to understand the greater beings of the universe. Lesser beings like dragons may join up with a person for any reason, and over time they will lend each-other both their divinity and some of their characteristics. The last way to achieve some divinity is by being born or granted it by the universe. People with particularly prestigious or powerful bloodlines, gods, vampires, dragons, and other mythical creatures simply have some divinity upon being created. This type of divinity tends to interfere the least with magic. However, it also has the most weaknesses since the condition can be removed.
The only real cost of divinity is that it is hard to use with magic. No one knows why, but it just is that way. However, here are some benefits you could possibly have. -Respect of great beasts. Things like dragons may decide to talk to you. -Faster and stronger -Legendary weapons tend to synchronize themselves with divinity, amplifying their effects -Rage can become strength, unlike magic where a constant calm is required. -People who follow you may gain some of your attributes. So if you are able to run fast, they will gain the ability to run fast as well. But not quite as fast. -Simple luck

Magic is fairly rare in this universe. Among a standard human medieval kingdom, only one in a thousand would be born with the gift. Some others can find tomes that allow them to achieve it and have it granted upon themselves. Some places and peoples have a very high concentration of it. There are four major categories of magic wielders. The higher up the list, the more divinity interferes with the ability for it to be wielded. People can wield multiple types of magic. Mages - use mana derived from their soul in order to wield power created by oneself. Due to the limitations on a mortal body, this is best used for smaller spells. It's main benefit however is that your personal mana is completely under your control. Wizards - use the power derived from the universe, or the environment. The more specific the environment, the safer and more efficient the power is. So for example, there could be a wizard of the Desert who would gain power based on the health of the desert. Wizards tend to make large territorial claims. Sorcerers - Sacrifice their mana to another being (usually not in the same plane of existence, otherwise the results can be… confusing) in order to gain access to their strength. While magic is sacrificed to gain access to these spells, the result can come in either Divine or Magic form depending on the source of the spell. While powerful, it takes time to cast, has a limited number of options for modification, and if casted incorrectly will allow that being to possibly possess your soul. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ecbTsBMeBy8 Arcanists - tend to use items and things like magic circles and runes to produce spells. High level arcanists tend to be able to summon a magic circle with their own mana, but this is a high level technique and is very temporary. Is one of the ways to enchant an item. Arcanists are able to modify an arcane item's original purpose using their mana, which allows them to use things like staves more effectively. Also it allows them to do things like open magic doors by 'hacking' them.

You know the common sense ones. Just don't post too much or too little.
