"So many years. So many dark memories. So many fears. We've now put to ease. Pain makes you do things You never knew you could do. Is this all real? Or just déjà-vu...? But now the party's over. Now the guests are gone. It's already past our bedtime. It's already almost dawn. Just like balloons, We soar on our own! Finally free From the pain of our home! And just like balloons, That no one will hold. Free from the truth, That no one will know." The music blasted through his headphones, distracting him from the tense silence he knew had fallen over the car and its passengers. He wasn't all that worried about missing anything; Erion would fill him in if he did though he doubt their mother had anything to say to them. The image of his step-father, face contorted with rage bearing down on him made Orion flinch and press back against the seat. The mute boy sensed his twin turning to look at him and Orion flashed the other boy a weak smile. A hand slipped into his own and squeezed gently, Erion knowing what was wrong without even asking. Orion sighed softly and turned his attention back to the passing scenery. Fae High School, a institute for the 'worst of the worst'. Was that what they were now? Bad people? No matter what the police or anyone else says, Erion is not a villain. Orion thought stubbornly to himself. His twin saved him; Erion was a hero and nothing would change Orion's view on that. All too soo for Orion's liking the car was rolling across a bridge and pulling up alongside a lavish-looking building. Orion couldn't believe his eyes. This was the place they were staying? He could sense Erion's disbelief next to him and he almost asked his mother if she had gotten lost. There was simply no way this was Fae High School. However, his mother parked the car then looked at them with a blank expression. Orion pulled his headphones out in time to hear her tell them to get out. The brothers shared a look before slowly climbing out and drawing their luggage from the backseat. Good-bye mom. Orion signed to her with one hand. The woman pretended to not see it as she pulled away without a backwards glance. Orion stared after her, feeling tears prickling his eyes. A hand on his shoulder drew his mind from his mother's departure and he turned to look up at his twin. Erion smiled down at Orion. "It will okay. I'll protect you, promise." No matter what happened to him, Erion would keep Orion safe at all costs. Orion nodded and sighed, ears pricking up as the P.A. clicked on and announced students were to report to auditorium. The twins grabbed their bags and followed the crowd of students. Orion was so caught up in gazing around him wonder and awe that he didn't notice the crack in the sidewalk until it was too late. With a gasp Orion felt his foot catch on the raised ground and felt himself pitch forward into a tall boy with brown hair.([@Amaterasu420])
