What sort of discussion is discouraged and/or forbidden in the guild chat? There have repeatedly been some very graphic and candid subjects brought up in quite colorful language, the sort of things that might warrant moderator action if seen in an actual forum post. I think the nature of the chat, specifically the seemingly (but not actually) impermanent nature of what's said leads people to be more explicit than they would be otherwise.

We believe the general policy is the same as for the rest of the guild, @The Nexerus.

Without chat moderators, however, it's completely unenforced.

Aye. It is.

Not sure where @Mahz is in implementing such. But it would really be something that should be implemented. Even just a few who can temporarily mute people for up to three hours would do wonders. They do not need any other powers.

@The Nexerus
Chat Logs

If you're concerned about somehing you can always have a quick search and locate the messages, then forward it on to a mod. Eventually as what @Ellri and @Hank mentioned there may be some moderators solely for the Chat, but the above would be the best option in the meantime.

Full action may not require but if some people are nipped in the butt and told to maybe be cautious of their words while other members around, it might help prevent it from going any further.

My response is and has been "Don't be the reason new rules get written."

However, if you see questionable content, if you could link it from the Chat Logs (that makes it easy to find) in the meantime, we're perfectly willing to deal with it and already have dealt with a couple situations in there -- sad to say, we had our first ban out of chat recently and while we regret that it's going there, I want to point out that Chat is not a free for all, and the Guild rules aren't really asking for much out of people.

The reality is that if we have to keep coming back to individuals in need of babysitting, we're going to institute that 'waste of time' rule in the chat, because we really don't want to be tied down in that place. People that do send reports/screenshots/logs will be very appreciated until such time as mahz decides to implement more features.

Until then, it's going to be the old warn-once, ban-once and people should act accordingly.
