Note: For the love of God and all that is holy, please read the OOC carefully. There are important details which you'll have to suck in first if you want to create a character.
~ Black Dawn
It's the year 2016. The United States presidential elections are nearing. Anxiety can be felt in the air as this time things are different. Whoever makes his way into the Oval office is not only going to become president, but may also reshape The United States of America, for better or worse. Following a terrorist attack in last year's Mardi Gras parade by a jihadist group, screenshots began to surf around Reddit showing the two perpetrators discussing the details of their assault. In a public chat no less. After proven to be valid, the fact that there was a terrorist attack planned right under everyone's nose caused an uproar. The Republican party had enough ammo to tear the leading cabinet a new asshole. And that's how the Information Control act came to be. The law, if it was to pass, would regulate and monitor a huge stream of data on the internet and sift potential threats towards U.S interest through an implemented program called "Flashlight". In October 23rd of 2015, after engaging in fierce negotiations with different representatives of the internet, who voiced their protests against the act, a member of the Republican party with the blessing of the President himself, assured that the bill would not come up for a vote during the current term. The news put everyone at ease, but many Internet users warned of upcoming protests should the law come into consideration again. The IC act controversy also was to become the main focus of the 2016 President campaign - Sen. Joseph Johnson of the Democratic party went on to promise the general population that he would make sure the bill would never pass, while his rival, Sen. Richard Conroy declared that he would make sure the bill passes. So far, public support has leaned towards the Democratic party. However... While the public is left to deal with the political shitstorm, a silent war is happening in the background. A clandestine organization with influence around the world known only as The Network has been manipulating important national events to make sure that it would all come to this. From the early 2000s, they've orchestrated seemingly unrelated political assassinations in order to pave a way to their goals; total control. They are indirectly affiliated with the Republican party, since their discrete nature doesn't allow for direct contact. It would also be extremely convenient for them if the Information Control bill passed. That said, there's little to no information about who leads the organization, the number of members or just exactly how vast their influence is. As a matter of fact, there's no government record even hinting about their existence, which implies that they may have already infiltrated crucial U.S assets. Cue Mr. Cheshire, a mysterious and wealthy benefactor who covertly has taken the initiative to oppose The Network. The exact time he entered the stage is unknown, but he has amassed enough information to at least acknowledge The Network's existence. The path he deemed fit to counter such a powerful organization was through keeping a distance. He doesn't employ people, he hires them, refusing to reveal any compromising information. It has been proven time and again that, while very shadowy, The Network does have a system of hierarchy. Mr. Cheshire doesn't. And he takes advantage of that by discarding unnecessary pieces and actively eliminating proof of his existence. So far, there's been no indication that The Network is aware of his existence, but that's most likely due to no course of action being taken as of yet seeing as how Cheshire's remained in the information gathering phase. The mysterious death of Nathan Leighton, an investigative journalist, has piqued the interest of Mr. Cheshire. While to the public eye the murder is simply an accident, Mr. Cheshire, through comparing evidence gathered in the past, has managed to make a connection between the 'accident' and The Network and has also managed to single out a franchise assassin of importance to the organization - a person known only by the name of Adds. The uncovering of such crucial information has led Mr. Cheshire to make a move. His course of action, after years of dormancy, was to hire six elite assassins from around the world and sign a one year contract, which he could renew if he needed their services for another year. Their collective mission; identify and eliminate the assassin known as Adds.

~ The Network
The name The Network was first used in an otherwise pretty useless encrypted memo that one of Mr. Cheshire's lackeys retrieved at the conclusion of a scavenging op. After picking up context clues, the mysterious benefactor was quick to deduce that the name indicated that the United States weren't the organization's main focus. And surely, after a week of research, his assumptions panned out to be true. The organization extended all over the world. China, Russia, England and especially Middle Eastern countries. Mr. Cheshire's prying also revealed that The Network was responsible for the death of a U.S Senator sometimes in March of 2002, a death which at the time was ruled as a car crash. Further investigations revealed a pattern in all of the political assassinations. It was almost as if the organization predicted how an entire decade would turn out, with the Mardi Gras parade bombing, which was secretly carried out by Network operatives, serving as the final nail in the coffin. Allegedly, the only hiccup in their plan was the victory of the Democratic party during 2008 President elections which only postponed their plans. The Information Control act would serve as the ultimate cloak for The Network. They could easily utilize "Flashlight" to claim important government intel and delete all traces of their involvement within the U.S soil. It is worth mentioning that these are all theories established by Mr. Cheshire, as the lack of conclusive evidence makes it hard to get a clear look at their precise goals. One thing is for sure; they do exist and they won't stop at nothing to accomplish their mission.
~ Adds
The murder of Nathan Leighton, a freelance investigative reporter, brought forth a name unheard before. Adds. Suspected Network operatives tossed the name around quite often, but there was a bit of uncertainty in their tones, like not even them were sure if Adds was real or just a myth. Regardless, the name was connected to dozens of killings, including the murder of Nathan. What's unique about Adds' method of killing is that he (or she) never operates any type of guns, instead electing to employ different tools like nerve gas and a variety of toxins or experimental drugs. His kills are clean and manage to get past most autopsy reports. It was only recently that Mr. Cheshire discovered the existence of a poison that turns the victim's entire organic system against them, essentially forcing said victim to suffocate. Said victim happened to be Leighton. It was Adds' work of art that finally drew Cheshire out of his dormancy period. Needless to say 'Adds' could very well be an alias, or perhaps a surname.

~ Mission Structure
The story missions will be done in a way that will allow you near complete freedom. I will describe the place which you have to infiltrate, like thoroughly; where all the doors are, where the guards are, where the target is, any retrievable items and so and so. There will be a few exceptions where it wouldn't make sense for Mr. Cheshire to know that much information, so you might have to figure stuff out by yourself, but that's how the majority of the missions will work out. Failure to do something properly, like hide a body you've just knocked out/killed or getting caught in cameras, will get you in trouble. If caught, you might as well just have your character snap his own neck cause if The Network doesn't kill him, then Mr. Cheshire will. There will also be high-priority areas which I will distinguish from the other areas using this color. You can't simply enter these areas. You need to have your character open the door, and then let me describe what's inside since nine times out of ten, these areas hold something important and are mostly off-limits. That goes for about every area too. You cannot traverse the entire map in one post. You can only do two rooms at a time, IF said rooms aren't of much importance. I trust that your judgment's gonna be spot on. What I also should tell you is that you can go about two ways of infiltrating an area; hiding in plain sight - utilizing disguises and what not. Or, the second one; using the shadows - sneaking in through the lower floors and mostly staying out of sight. There will also be instances where two assassins will be sent in a mission, so if you're smart, you can use both of those styles to make a foolproof strategy. Mr. Cheshire surely loves it when his pawns act smart. -Side-Missions (will be unlocked after 'prologue') - [Will provide detailed description once I feel it's necessary]
~ Weapons and Gadgets
-The NMA (Nationwide Mobile Armory) -The NMA is a ring of mobile arms caches scattered around the United States. The dealers appear to be freelance, but are actually all connected to one another through Mr. Cheshire, who's got them under his payroll. They are constantly on the road, and are not allowed to rest for more than one hour. The crew handling the shipment is replaced by another crew after a 12 hour time period, while the requested weapons are delivered by what are called 'couriers' each in individual vehicles. The dealers are not allowed to sell weapons to anyone else but Mr. Cheshire for the duration of their contract. The mobile depots usually come in the form of trailer trucks, cargo choppers or mega yachts. In order to remain inconspicuous, Mr. Cheshire doesn't allow the weapons to be transported through more pronounced means of transportation like cargo ships, trains, commercial planes, private jets, et cetera. While the merchandise is pretty standard, there are also a few state of the art gadgets hidden in a few of the compartments which are made available for anyone who works under Mr. Cheshire. OPLink: The OPLink resembles a mobile phone device. It even functions like one. You can call, take pictures, connect to the internet. What makes it different from a cellphone however is that it allows you to transmit encrypted (or any sort) of data from whatever location you're in to Cheshire's database in less than a second. The phone can be easily folded to the point where it resembles a USB and even works like one. You stick it in the hub, and all of the data is quickly transmitted to the man in charge. Completely untraceable. One cool other function that the OPLink has it's that it can be used to access a digital weapons market, where you can order a loadout and it will be delivered to your location. (See 'The NMA' above). Mr. Cheshire owns a Master OPLink, which enables him to communicate with his helpers but prevents them from reaching him. Directional EMP Device: It's a handheld device which can be used to disrupt surveillance cameras or any type of electricity based instruments. How it works is you point it at the device you want to shut down, pull the trigger, and it's done. Only backdraw is that it can jam devices only for a short five seconds, so you better make use of your time. It's completely undetectable by metal detectors, and can even be used to shut metal detectors down. Make sure you don't overuse it though, as once the security figures out something's wrong, the chances of you being caught are going to be higher. Hidden Earpiece: The earpiece in and of itself is very standard, but it's actually modified, layered to be undetectable and can be used to connect with the OPLink through wireless connection. When that's done, you'll be able to intercept enemy radio chatter. You must be inside the radius to do that, though. There is also a bigger device that has about the same function and covers a larger radius called CID (Chatter Intercepting Device), but due to the size of that baby, the chances of you carrying it over in a mission are pretty slim. The aforementioned gadgets will be with you at all times, while you can choose your own loadout. Just keep in mind; the point of this RP is to stay out of sight, so no rocket launchers or anything like that. There will also be times when Mr. Cheshire will lend a helping hand and bribe the workers of whatever facility you're trying to get in to smuggle the weapons, at which point you'll have to find them. But that will only happen if the security is pretty tight.

~ Rules
- Patience. I'm not gonna create a character of my own in this RP, but I still have to GM it, not to mention I may be caught up in other RPs. Plus, I do have a life, as hard as it may seem to believe. I may be busy dealing with it. - Clean up. By clean up I mean for your characters to clean up. Cleaning up will be a recurring theme in this RP. Basically what you have to do is quickly conceal dead bodies, make sure cameras haven't caught you red handed and being a formidable assassin, generally speaking. One mistake will be forgivable and may actually create a quite interesting situation for your character , but once it happens a second time, and a third time and a fourth time, it'll begin getting stale. I won't hold your hand. You're gonna have to do everything by yourself. If anything, I'll simply make things more difficult for you. - Not be a dick. Yes, I expect you to not be a dick. Don't insult me. Don't insult other participants. If you're gonna quit, let me know, and while there have the decency to kill off your character. I won't hold it against you if you don't, but it'll surely spare me the bother. If you're gonna go in a trip, let me know. Like, immediately, not after two weeks when the trip's over. By then, your character is probably laying in a ditch with cement blocks on his/her feet. - Pay attention. I said I can't stress this one enough. Pay attention! If you're tired and just came back from work, take a nap and then read my messages. The plot will be heavy on foreshadowing, since mystery is a big part of this RP. So it'll make my experience and your experience way more pleasant if you're in the right state of mind when indulging in this type of stuff. And finally, if you're the type of guy who skips through RPs like a flamboyant Norwegian on top a volcano, don't even bother to join this RP. I'm looking for dedicated people, not those who change minds faster than one can say 'change mind' three times. I understand if you're being overwhelmed by real life, or if you have an emergency, but I'll make sure to stalk your profile and if I see you posting in another RP, I'll make sure I spread the word all around this place. Also, you're dead to me. Oh, and one more thing. This isn't first come, first serve, so if you don't make it in but the guy behind you does, then either your character sheet doesn't match the RP's tone, or his sheet was better. Or both. Edit: Let me clarify a couple of things which I didn't imagine would be necessary. First of all, do NOT and I repeat, DO NOT show your character being recruited by Mr. Cheshire in the CS. Don't even make a mention of Mr. Cheshire. For all your character cares, he doesn't even exist. I have an idea on how he'll recruit the assassins, which I will show in the first IC post. Second, your guy must be an assassin. I remember clearly stating that Mr. Cheshire hires a squad of elite assassins, not thieves, or criminals or soldiers. Assassins. Third, do not involve Adds in your story. Part of the appeal of this RP will be the mystery aspect of it, and I have yet to clear out Adds' identity. He could be a man, a woman, a dog, an oak tree, an entire sub-division, an alias carried by many people, he could be anything. Fourth, just for a good measure. Do NOT post your CS in the Characters section EVEN if I tell you that it's good. Good does not mean 'approved'. You know what means 'approved'? Approved.
