Would a reconnaissance/electronic warfare cruiser be possible? I was thinking of a cruiser with less armour and weapons in order to mount technologies such as target jammers, signal boosters, cloaking (visual or signature wise, depending on which is allowed). It'd be less combat and more support, but still able to chase and kill troublesome frigates or destroyers.

If not, I was considering playing a destroyer. In EVE Online terminology, and ship that's all gank and no tank. Maximum firepower and high speed in exchange for paper-thin defenses. A frigate's worst nightmare and appetizer for larger ships.
