His morals and ideals are not average, he was born with a lack of emotional strength in the sense that his emotions are weak, while he may show surface emotion deep down he's always bored unless he is doing something he considers extremely enjoyable. His sister is his moral anchor, everything he considers to be right and wrong revolve around her, meaning that if she approves of something he is fine with it if she isn't then he will consider it a "bad" thing for values of her displeasure.
