The red-haired mage rubbed his arm over the tiny cut, as it still felt a tiny bit sore being it was the starting point of the numbing attack Grant had used. Maddox began to put his leather jacket back on when Trinity popped up and consoled him on his loss. [color=ed1c24]"It wasn't so bad,"[/color] Maddox spoke simply. [color=ed1c24]"I just made a few mistakes. Carelessness defeated me. It won't happen again."[/color] With a grin he turned to face her, standing upright and crossing his arms over his chest. [color=ed1c24]"And hopefully you won't get kidnapped. I wouldn't worry too much about the competition though. Anxiety doesn't get you anywhere."[/color]

Maddox looked around a bit before leaning closer to Trinity. [color=ed1c24]"And between you and me, the competition isn't too steep as it is. Play it safe and you'll win."[/color] He gave her a reassuring wink before standing upright again. But his attention went to Penny next when she asked if everything was alright. For a moment Maddox thought she was inquiring about him, but it was obvious that he was fine. Then he realized she was talking about the sleeping Karn, who was in one of his cat transformations in Trinity's arms. Sometimes Maddox forgot that the cat was an actual person. But as far as he could tell Karn was just sleeping. Perhaps something had gone down while he was fighting? [color=ed1c24]"What happened?"[/color]
