Despite just waking up, Joel could instantly tell something was very wrong. He couldn't feel the normal dankness of the coal mine, nor was his back on the cold hard dirt floor of said mine. For as long as he could remember, those two things had been constants as he woke up to him, so to have them both suddenly gone got his attention and fast. Jolting up, he quickly saw that he was in some strange building, and not the coal mines. There were also two other kids he didn't recognize here with him.
