Lots of geo activity from earthquakes to volcanos. There are grasslands and hills with mostly lone mountains. Fissures that go deep in the earth are not uncommon. It has stood for centuries before the nation of Archades claimed it. Alera Impira- the capital, and largest city, located in the geographical center of the current territory, surrounding Alera Antillus- second largest city and a great military fortress. Tharsis- largest port. Etria- Other great city and military fortress. Vol Turin- The city of one thousand chimneys. So called because of the many blacksmith and other crafts like it (Glassmaking, silver and goldsmiths ect.) that are the main economic resources of the city. Noteworthy buildings, locations, structures, and landmarks: Barrow Downs- A dark area, full of ancient burial mounds, rumored to be haunted. Abyssal Caverns- The largest mine, originally a deep natural crack in the ground with a maze-like series of caverns, it is now the largest and best producing precious metal mine. It is so deep and vast it has never been fully explored... Gaol River- the largest river, runs east to west through the heart of the realm Roan Hills- beautiful rolling hills with high iron content and a good place for cattle Amaranth Vale- rich, fertile stretch of land flanking the first half of the Gaol river. Ignea: A dormant volcano overshadowing the city of Vol Turin. Albus Litore- White Shore. A Half-kilometer stretch of shore nearby Tharsis that is one of the best natural harbors. Also a fantastic beach. It is called that for it's bright white sand. Eliarch- largest bridge that spans the Goal river, an important strategic spot, due to being the only place a large army could safely cross the Goal. There is a military outpost there at all times. The Great Imperial Forest Lifes- Light Lake Agni Swamp- A large, dangerous swamp on the northern border. Little is known about it, but it is home to a small, particular people known as Rangers. They, and only they know how to get through the swamplands safely. The elite are called Judge Magistrate. The Judge Magistrates are the elite of the elite. They have a lot of political power, all most as much as the Senate. Each and every one of them are powerful, expert warriors and strategists. Artifacts, and noteworthy objects: The three regalia: Islingr: A black-bladed sword infused with lightning. A legendary sword, that was found in a secret room beneath the castle. It is so dark that it seems to suck the light from its surroundings. It is said to contain the power of a lightning god. Galahadeon Mirror: A mirror that can supposedly show the future, but has also driven many who looked mad. A curious artifact made in a lost time with methods no longer known. It is said that only the pure of heart can look upon it, though this could just be myth. Sun Cryst: A massive jewel the size of a child's fist. It radiates light in all the colors of the rainbow. The greatest jewel to ever been found. It was uncovered from the heart of a deep volcano. It is harder than diamond, no tool has been found that can scratch it. Magic colleges practiced, common magics: Stromist is the military's magic- every soldier is expected to have at least some use of it. All other magic are found here and there. (in that order) They have a growing fishing industry, since they have both the sea and a fresh water lake to draw on. The also have a livestock industry. Agriculture(poor, rich, what do you produce): Moderate- The climate is good for a broad range of things, wheat and apples are notable examples, however nothing grows partially well except for a single type of tree. The Yggdrasil tree is the one thing that truly favors the climate. It grows like a weed, is hardy and is disease resistant. The wood is ugly looking, and unfit for quality goods, but if you want study, long lasting, and tough, it has got you covered. The wood is good for anything and everything, from ships and shields, to houses and books. Its fruit is edible, although it tastes bad raw, it is extremely nutritious. What kind of currency do you use): The economy is underdeveloped but growing very quickly, they are a new nation with many plentiful natural resources. The currency is the standard International Relations:(you and other players) Archadia is on a warpath, seeking to conquer. However, it is a merciful conquering, if the country surrenders, they keep all soverenty and do not have to convert to any religion or anything drastic. They only have to swear fealty, pay light taxes and allow recruiting from their population. If the country refuses it will be attacked. Imperial Relations:(you and the Imperial Province and throne) They as a whole respect the Imperial Province but see the Emperor as a fool, and unable to protect the land from the oncoming disaster. As of yet, relations are peaceful. National Flaw: Overpopulated and currently still developing. They are a comparatively new nation and still trying to grow and take full advantage of it's natural resources. National Strength: Strong, disciplined military and little to no unrest and political maneuvering is slight. They are united under one leader. --- Military! Type of Military recruitment: Levies Possible military manpower: (GM) Unit Demographics and Equipment: Infantry is organized into legions. The total number of men in a full strength legion is about 6,000, of whom 4,800 were actual soldiers. The rest are classified as non-combatants. The internal organization of a legion consistes of 10 cohorts of 6 centuries each. The century consistes of 100 men, 80 legionaries and 20 non-combatants. However, the first cohort is irregular and consistes of 5 double strength centuries (containing 160 men). Each century is divided again into 10 contubernia led by a decanus. The contubernium containes 8 legionaries and 2 non-combatant servants who tented and messed together. The century fought as a unit, marched as a unit and camped as a unit. The century carries with it all the arms and accoutrements required to feed and maintain it as a fighting unit. Each man was responsible for carrying his own supplies, weapons, and several days' worth of rations. This drastically reduces the size of the baggage train required as support and makes the army much more mobile. Between 2 and 6 legions together together constituted an army. The legions are kept in peak physical condition and discipline by constant training, even during peaceful times. Gear for a legionnaire is standardized, each man having a shovel, philm, a Gladius, a heavy, rectangular shield and a full suit of armor. The legions are backed by contingents of allied/auxiliary troops, called Auxilia. Each legion has a same size or near same size Auxilia (auxiliary), which containes specialist units, engineers and pioneers, artillerymen and siege craftsmen, service and support units plus units made up of non-citizens and undesirables. These are usually formed into complete units such as light cavalry, light infantry or velites, and laborers. There was also a reconnaissance squad of 10 or more light, mounted infantry called speculatores who can also serve as messengers or as a military intelligence service. Tactics(optional): Strengths: Highly adaptable, highly disciplined, highly organized quick moving, and inventive. Focuses on fighting together, using simple maneuvers that can be learned easily. Trained in engineering. They never know when they were beaten, they always will "come back for more."
