So a trainer needed certain badges just to be able to get into certain areas of Kosei? It sounded a bit complicated, but Trey immediately noticed a silver lining in all this. Requiring badges to be in certain areas would apply not just to him, but the other trainers in the region as well, or so logic dictated. That meant that, no matter how many gyms he challenged, there'd be no shortage tough trainers to test his skill against. And that, Trey decided, was alright with him. But then the Team Tyrannical stuff got brought up. Now, Trey didn't know a whole lot about them. News about Kosei rarely reached as far as Johto, and that included this organization's actions. However, from what was described about them, Trey could tell that unless they were stopped it was going to be Team Rocket all over again. Yes, Trey was there when Team Rocket took over Slowpoke Well, heck he'd even heard first hand about their famous takeover of Goldenrod City. Of course, he was only a little kid back then, so he couldn't have done anything to stop them at the time, not that he ever needed to, since that one trainer took them all down single-handedly. What was their name? Ethan? Or was it Kris? He was a bit too young at the time to remember fully. Not that any of this was going to deter Trey, not by a long shot. If he ran into those Team Tyrannical guys, he'd just have to follow that previous trainer's example and fight them tooth and nail until they were running away with their tails between their legs. Not an easy prospect, but if young trainers like Red and Ethan could do it, then there was no reason why the trainers in this room couldn't rise to the challenge as well. While listening to the Professor, Trey checked the map on his Pokegear. There were two places he could choose to go first. Mesalon, which was slightly closer and had a Normal Type Gym; and Vareena, which was slightly farther but offered a Grass Type Gym which Glider could easily take on. Then again, Glider hadn't learned any actual Flying type moves yet so they could probably go either way, "What do you think, bud?" he whispered to the Gligar who was undoubtedly looking at the map from on Trey's shoulder. The Gligar just shrugged, also unsure what to choose. "Actually, Professor," said Trey when questions were allowed, "I was wondering if maybe you were offering any Pokedex's. I came from Azalea Town so I didn't get to pick one up from Professor Elm."
