Good questions.
1 - Humans survived by building bunkers for themselves and running into safehouses built by the government. While many survived, not all did. It was basically like survival of the fittest. Some people even died inside the safehouses due to murder.

2 - It's all a matter of opinion. Some humans don't like clones, and some do. Some clones don't like humans, and some do. It's really all how you see it. Humans and clones both do the same thing in a way, so they don't really have a significant role. They're just survivors, with some being stronger and more plentiful than others.
