Whether you're knowledgeable in either, you should still take the time to read these locations because things will have changed. If you have any questions and need things further clarified, let me know and I'll do my best to answer them. Due to this being a hybrid, there will be things I haven't yet considered so be patient. Region: A terrible Map I made for guidance, without my beloved Photoshop. The region we're in is known as Ferelden. It is a large continent with three different Kingdoms ruling over its entirety. The Great Ferelden River runs right down the middle. Olivine Kingdom is a very lush, grassy Kingdom with plentiful livestock, produce, leather goods and handcrafted medicine. The King and Queen who rule over it are known to be passive. Due to the wooded areas, small towns and farms, many people turn out to be Bards, Assassins, Farmers, Potion Makers and/or Archers. There is also a large population of elves that are known to flee to Olivine and take shelter in its many lush endless mazes of trees and boulders.
Redcliffe Village In the northwest, a small town in a mountainous region. It's a dusty town with some crime. The homes are made of wooden and clay. The people who live there tend to be merchants, smiths and farmers. Brecilian Forest In the southeast, a large forest which connects to the Korcari Wilds and Petalburg Woods. The Brecillian Forest is home to many small villages of elves, humans and a mixture. It is less dense than most and is very bright, bathed in sunlight. Viridian City The Capitol of the Kingdom, located at the center. It is a large city with stones littering the ground. The buildings are sturdy and its home to a large library, school, and even a marketplace. It's surrounded by green trees and bushes. Viridian Forest To the west of Viridian City, a thick forest that reaches to the end of the kingdom's territory. It contains a lot of wild pokemon and touches The Great Ferelden River. Korcari Wilds South of Viridian Forest, it also follows the river. It's smaller but more complex. The Korcari Wilds are filled with more marshy areas and ruins of civilization's past. Petalburg Woods Located east of Viridian City, Petalburg Woods is a cozy area of forestation that very little light can reach. There are myths circulating around the dead that haunt the area, as well as the criminals who hide out. Floaroma Town The second largest urbanization in the kingdom. It's located on the northeast coast and is home to many jovial activities. The town is known for its fishing exports as well as its nightlife and friendly folk. Lake Calenhad It's located north of Floaroma Town and is a lush place for people to fish and camp. It is quite deep and has a small tavern on the north side. Oldale Town In the northern part of Olivine, it's a small village that claims it was the first ever established in the area and is thus the oldest. It is peaceful and filled with plenty of elderly folk looking for help in exchange to tell stories of baffling historic significance.
Goldenrod Kingdom is an upscale Kingdom embellished with castles made up stone, gems and bricks. It produces strong armor made of silver and metal. It is home to sprawling libraries, manors, bridges and well paved roads. The King and Queen who rule over their land are known to be passionate and protective of its citizens. People often become Scholars, Knights, Warriors, Duelists and/or Thieves. Seeing dwarves or elves is uncommon in the area.
Highever The Capitol of Goldenrod Kingdom, located in the south on the coast. It's a majestic city with stone and gems everywhere. It has a great view of the ocean and a massive fortress for the King and Queen. It has libraries, a dock, and many other districts. Denerim The second largest city, in the northeast area along the coast. It's less policed than Highever and so it's more prone to criminal activity in certain parts. Lumiose City The third largest city, but still expanding. It's located in the center of the kingdom. Anistar City Located on The Great Ferelden River and known for it's sophisticated design and quaint style. They are also known to have Pokemon Competitions every couple of months because of its prime location. Lothering A small village in the southeast region. It's most used for shady business deals and transactions. Lothering has been known to move without much notice, it's been in its current location for forty years but if danger looms, it will pick up and move elsewhere. Haven Another small village between Highever and Denerim. It's where some refuges take shelter. There isn't a lot of activity there and those who linger are usually elves or dwarfs. Granite Cave A large glittering cave where a lot of mining takes places. It's located in the south and can be a labyrinth if people aren't careful. Mt. Chimney A volcanic area which is near the top of the border. Meteor Falls A series of mountains and caves that hold a waterfall inside which feeds into The Great Ferelden River. Some dwarves live inside but they're often driven out. Darkspawn are thought to originate from the bottom since it may connect to The Deep Roads.
Fuchsia Kingdom is a modest Kingdom shrouded in a magical purple mist, preventing those will ill intent upon entering the area. It is well known that its exports are mystical items and well crafted weapons ranging from blades to staffs. They also produce clothes, jewelry and other light armor. The land is home to an underground city where most dwarves dwell because they are unaffected by magic. The King and Queen are kind but at the same time, uncertain of outsides. Popular lifestyle choices will include Spirit Healers, Shapeshifters, Mages, Fortune Tellers and/or a Shadow.
Frostback Mountains The chilly range that leads travelers to Orzammar. It's rocky and steep and sometimes merchants can be found in the area, to take advantage of tired or lost travelers. Orzammar An underground city of massive proportions which houses the vast majority of dwarves. It is broken into varous sections, depending on the caste someone is in. Humans and elves are allowed inside but it's not common that they stay too long. Deep Roads A maze of tunnels around and under Orzamaar which darkspawn frolic. It is a confusing area for even the most skills of warriors. Rumor has it, there a secret room in the Deep Roads where old inventions used to go on, supposedly using sacrifice. Circle Tower Located in the middle of the kingdom, it's home to the region's mages and scholars. The tower is located in the middle of Lyrium Lake. It's made of stone and reaches several stories up. It's guarded by Templars and other mages to keep people out. Lost Tower A designated place for the dead to be buried and or burned in the north. People are allowed to pay their respects by planting flowers, cleaning the area and lighting candles. Around the tower, there's a cemetery in the shape of a circle going outward toward the ocean. Ostagar The Capitol of the kingdom, a large city located on the west coast. It's filled with mystics and each morning, its bathed in a thick fog. The air smells of lavender and the city is broken into tiers depending on its contents like shops or academies. Laverre City The second largest city, located north of the Circle Tower. It's in a wooded area with lots of rainfall. It is still a friendly place for any visitor. There are fountains and ponds scattered around the area. Dark Cave A spooky cave in the south which has been generally unexplored. Icirrus City In the northeast, a city that sits by the river and takes things slow. Most of the people who live there have families and there's even a bird sanctuary for flying Pokemon.
Key Terms: A Bard is someone who uses music and dance, as well as mild magic to entrance their victims into a sedate state. An Assassin is someone who uses small throwing blades to attack their enemy from afar, sometimes laced with poison. A Farmer is someone who produces food through livestock, pokemon and cultivating the land. A Potion Maker is someone who is skilled to make healing potions, as well as harmful ones. An Archer uses a bow and arrow to attack long distances. A Scholar is someone who relies on a powerless staff to defend themselves in dire situations. A Knight uses a sword and shield, often wearing heavy armor. A Warrior uses a large weapon requiring the use of both hands. A Duelist uses two light blades in combat, one in each hand. A Thief is someone who has quick hands and agility, capable of quick combat. A Spirit Healer is someone who has healing magic as well as spells to ward off enemies and boost allies. A Shapeshifter is capable of turning into various pokemon and animals for limit amounts of time. Mages use basic magic (fire, ice, lightening) to attack. Fortune Tellers use tarot cards to see in the near future as well as far away lands. And a Shadower is someone who uses magic to conceal themselves in a shadow briefly, to distract opponents and stab them in the back literally. There are two different types of Elves, Dalish and City. Dalish elves are free to roam and mostly reside in Olivine or Fuchsia. Dalish elves balk at the idea of city life and prefer to live off the land. City elves on the other hand, aren't forced against their will to reside in any sort of prison or Alienage, but they are still discriminated against in Goldenrod and some parts of Fuchsia. City elves embrace the city life and have cut off ties with their own kind to live a richer life among humans or sometimes dwarves. And dwarves aren't very fond of being Topside (being above ground) and liked to stay underground in Orzammar and the Deep Roads. They are a blunt folk who still use a caste system, despite some wanting to do away with it since their history is become difficult to collect given the Blights unleashing more Darkspawn than usual which ruin stashed documents and other artifacts important to the dwarves. The region has been plagued by four previous Blights. A Blight is defined by the presence of an Archdemon, a powerful transformation of an old Pokemon nearing its end. Normally Darkspawn reside in the Deep Roads but when there is a Blight, they're more powerful and able to further penetrate the other Kingdoms. Darkspawn blood is notably very dangerous and infects anything living creature it comes across. Darkspwan can either be corrupted Pokemon or demonic creatures such as Hurlocks or Genlocks. While Darkspawn are deadly and quick, they can be killed but the average person would struggle with their reckless tactics. In order to combat an Archdemon and it's army of amped up Darkspawn, a group of people stepped forward and formed The Wardens. These people took it upon themselves to travel Ferelden and battle against the hordes of enemies, forsaking their families and homes. Little is known about The Wardens to outsiders except that they accept any and all who have a desire to put an end to the Blight, no matter the cost. They accept those with magic, those with pointed ears, those with royal blood and those with sticky fingers. They go through The Joining and should they and their chosen Pokemon survive, they are forever a Warden, under their practice of choice. After the end of the third Blight, The Wardens discovered that they had an affinity to communicate with Pokemon. Each Warden found that they had a specific type, native to their region. From then on, The Joining also required the selection of a Companion Pokemon which would also undergo a serious task to join its Master as a Warden. By this point, texts and mentors had emerged that could teach new Wardens and their Companions how to properly fight. For the most part, the Pokemon were to remain as aid, as opposed to directly battling with Darkspawn. When the fourth Blight was over, many of the Wardens had been killed or died of old age and a new generation had to quickly be formed. In the past, there would be at least 80 years before a Blight began but the last one had only 30 years of peace and people were wondering if the next Blight would come sooner than expected as well. It did. One of the last remaining Wardens, a Mauve Warden, recruited a new band of Wardens to travel the lands, help people and of curse defeat the fifth Blight infecting the region after just fifteen years of peace since the fourth Blight. Pokemon: A Mauve Warden's Companion is psychic. An Ivory Warden's Companions is flying. A Sepia Warden's Companion is rock. A Crimson Warden's Companion is fire. An Azure Warden's Companions is water. An Emerald Warden's Companion is grass. In Ferelden, Pokemon are common to tame as pets, eat, use for labor and compete in judged battles for prize money. For the most part, they remain wild though, with only 30% of Ferelden's population being able to tame Pokemon to be pets, labor or competitors. The majority of people see Pokemon was either mystical, dangerous or just another way to get food in their belly. By that logic, the types of pokemon are very natural and based off of animals, as opposed to objects or technical devices. In The Kingdom of Olivine, grass and water Pokemon can be found. In The Kingdom of Goldenrod, fire and rock Pokemon can be found. And in The Kingdom of Fuchsia, flying and psychic Pokemon can be found. Open and Closed Side Quests: Personal Quests: Personal quests relate to the Wardens and Pokemon. If you have a personal quest relating to your character that you would like to suggest, feel free to bring it up in the OOC so we can discuss the details and should it sound fair, I can add it here.
The Misplaced Leather Sketches of Sasha Estute - Open A faded tan leather bound journal. Inside were sketches of the rock pokemon she observed when she was looking for her partner. It was the first documentation of her meeting her Onix, it was last seen in Haven. A Vile Thing for Devon Withers to Lose - Open A glass vile with his dog's ashes inside. It's roughly four inches tall and slim with a black wooden cork. It was last seen in the Viridian Forest, about two years ago. Devon Withers has Cold Feet - Open A pair of red hard leather boots, with black laces. They were the first article of clothing he made for himself. They were last seen in Redcliffe Village's Tavern when he was staying the night. He suspects someone stole them about five years ago. The Missing Silver Necklace of Arïs Andryr - Open A silver chain necklace, given to Arïs by a friend in the mercenary clan. Spiraling Out of Control, Vivian Crowther's Hairpin - Open A hairpin with a metal clip and a small stone carving mounted to it. The carving is made of carefully selected and shaped black and white rock, forming a spiral pattern akin to a Poliwag's. It was last seen several days after her recruitment and departure from Floaroma Town, when she put it on before breaking camp in the morning. When they later set camp again for the night after the days events and travel, it had gone missing. Vivian Crowther's Supposedly Stolen Socks - Open As a result, they have so many patches it's impossible to tell what parts are the original sock. It's possible none of it remains at this point. She only wears these when it is particularly cold, otherwise keeping them safely tucked away in her pack. They were most likely taken by a thieving animal or pokemon in the night as nest materials, and have yet to be noticed as missing. Not known to be missing yet.
NPC Quests: These will relate to NPCs we interact with on our travels. If you have one to suggest, let us know and we can work it out. Non-Player Character will be free for anyone to control and as GM, I encourage you guys to take control of minor characters.
Light up the Night - Open In Redcliffe Village, a woman has lost a child during childbirth. She wishes to put it to rest across the border in The Lost Tower. She's willing to pay for someone to do this for her. Materials Missing - Open In Redcliffe Village, an old man requires rare items which are found in Granite Cave and The Korcari Wilds. He's willing to pay anyone, as well as make a feast, for the retrieval of high end cooking items that are from Highever, Lake Calenhad, Ostagar and the Brecilian Forest.
Rules and Submitting a CS: Be active in the OOC, have discussions, brainstorm, debate shit. I don't care as long as we can all be active and know we're alive and posting eventually. I believe an active OOC leads to an equally active IC. We're here to have fun, develop characters and romp around some woods right? Your character will be recruited by my NPC named Nelwa. Nelwa will be in the area and witness your character and its pokemon doing something heroic/brave. Nelwa will mention that she's been looking for more recruits and offers your character the chance to join. The only other way is that your character seeks out Nelwa and insists they have what it takes to be a Warden. Be aware a good chunk of the story will be traveling and doing side quests. If you get bored easily, this may not be for you. There will be action and combat but this is more about development than always finding a battle to win. Your Pokemon shouldn't take the majority of your post. This is about your Warden, the Pokemon are minor but still important. If you're busy or need to drop, tell us. If you need to drop or take an extended leave, write your character to the side so we can move on smoothly. This RP takes the form of Rounds. When I post, one begins and everyone is free to post whenever they want but only once. As soon as everyone else has posted, I will post and a new Round begins. This ensures people don't fall behind or get ignored. It does mean a slower pace usually but if a player ends up missing more than two Rounds, they will be asked to write their character to the side because we can't keep waiting on one person constantly, if it hurts the group's progress. You're expected to submit a logical character meaning their backstory is realistic (not too perfect or too depressing) which takes into account their age, skills and personality. I don't want to see loners who joined to just kill things because that's not going to get accepted. Nor am I going to accept characters who clearly have questionable morals. I'm not saying that every Warden must have a heart of gold but if someone might sellout a fellow friend in a dire situation, I'll voice my concern right away. If your character is into stealing or a killer for hire, make sure it's not to the point that trust and respect can't be given to them. Be smart. Also, be smart about your Pokemon choice. No legendaries or rare ones, none with silly names or questionable purpose. The point of the Companion is help its Master either be healing, making fire for camp, producing water for drinking, using leaves or rocks to camouflage the group when in danger, etc. I'm not requiring us to keep track of move sets, levels or stats but you should give an overview of their capabilities and when they met, etc. Finally, no one is going to be the same type of Warden but if two submit under the same, I'll pick whichever will work for the RP and the one who doesn't get picked is more than welcome to change their CS and ask me to look it over again. Also, I would love it to be a balance of male and female Wardens if possible. At any rate, I'll be busy fleshing out the region and setting up different quests so feel free to submit a CS in the meantime. If you need information about a location I haven't gotten to yet, just post here! The Sheets to Submit:

Roleplayer Sheet Your Timezone: Your Frequency: (when you're usually online and able to post) Your Real Life Obligations: Your Favorite tv show or book series: Character Sheet Name: Age: (somewhere in the 20-40s) Hometown: (where they were born) Race: (human, city elf, dalish elf, dwarf) Class: (Warrior, Potion Maker, Shapeshifter etc) Weapon: (staff, sword, dual swords, poisoned blade, etc) Personality: (list 2 negative and 3 positive adjectives describing them) Personal Artifacts: (1-3 items that hold a great significance to them and where they may have been misplaced on their travels. Appearance: (shiny pokemon won't exist folks)

Once you've submitted it HERE and I accept it, you can post it in the CS tab. I will accept submissions for side roles which would be non-Warden types who want to help the cause. If they have Pokemon or not, is up to you but it can't be as tight of a bond as the Wardens. And if you are interested in being a co-GM, let me know and your character or pokemon could get a nice perk for helping me out since I will be starting school soon.
