Ethel watched on as the two duels in both arenas unfolded. The first to finish was that of the one in arena B2, where she was supposed to go and duel in a little bit. Much later the second duel ended an actually much the same way, one of the two duelists had surrendered their match... The girl double checked her belongings, seeing if the deck was properly secured and the duel disk hadn't been turned on by accident. The girl made her way off of the audience seats and onto the hallway where the duelists go through to reach the arena. Vincent had watched the second duel from just outside of the arena while he was in preperation for his own duel agains the light blue haired girl, he honestly did not know what to expect from her. Once the match in the arena had ended, he waited for the two duelists in arena to vacate the arena for his match, to bring to close the first round. Double checking his Duel disk, he walked out onto the arena taking a position in one of the player designated zones. A minute or two after Vincent had taken his spot, a thin and rather pale skinned girl calmly walked onto the designated zone she was supposed to occupy. Ehtel didn't say anything much of anything, really. All she was really doing was drilling holes into Vincent with her cold, mechanical stare. The bluenette took her eyes off of the opponent for a bit and looked at her duel disk, observing every provided slot in order to not get confused later on. Vincent noticed his opponent staring at him but decided to ignore it, it was probably nerves after all but he couldn't help but feel like this might be a sort of deterrent by his opponent to put him off his game. Well the crowd was already doing that slightly and his opponent was only one girl, not like she could kill him or anything, hopefully he was right, right? Ethel stretched out her arm, two additional monster and S/T slots revealing themselves from inside the device on her arm. It startled her slightly that seemed to work, but she didn't show it. Holding it out in front of her in the "Ready" position, Ethel waited on her opponent's signal to start. Vincent decided to copy his opponent by activating his duel disk, and watched as it unfolded almost gracefully in front of his eyes, this is what would project his monsters. "Alright are you ready?" he asked. "Duel!" "Duel!"
Turn 1: Vincent Ethel 4000 LP, 5 cards in Hand Vincent 4000 LP, 5 cards in Hand Vincent drew 5 cards from the deck carefully and then observed the cards in his hand, it seemed like a good starting hand, "Alright I guess I will set one monster down and end my turn" Turn 2: Ethel Ethel 4000 LP, 6 cards in Hand Vincent 4000 LP, 4 Cards in Hand, 1 Set Monster Ethel drew her card carefully and placed it in her hand. The awkwardness of the duel disk's weight combined with how she has to fan out the cards was a little foreign to her, and she clearly had trouble maintaining a stable grip. Nevertheless she scanned over her hand looking for anything to use... She bit down on her lower lip at seeing her cards, though no other visible sign of distraught was noticeable. "Activate... Cup of Ace..." Speaking in an almost robotic and soft tone, Ethel took a single spell card from her hand and slid it into the provided slot. "This card starts spinning... And if it stops downward... You draw two cards... If not, I do..." It was crazy how silently she was speaking, but after her explanation the card started rotating around above her head. "You... Call stop..." "Alright I guess i will, Stop!" Vincent said, pointing at the card. The green spell card made a few more turns, the sound of metal clanging together ringing out with every single turn. Eventually it settled... Downwards. Vincent got to draw two cards. Ethel looked dissapointed, mirrored in how her eyes glanced down ever so slightly compared to her normally steady gaze. "Thanks for the cards, that was very nice of you to do that." Vincent said with a grin as he view the two cards that he had drawn from his deck. Glancing up at his opponant to see if anything else was gonna happen. "I... Set one card... And summon one monster... End..." Grabbing the two cards from her hand, Ethel slid one of them face down into the Spell and Trap zone, while the other got placed face-up on the disk. A vortex opened up on the floor of the dueling field, a robotic insect of sorts crawling out of it. It's golden legs appeared first, with the white and blue body following soon after. Ally of Justice Core Destroyer: ATK 1200 DEF 200, level 3 DARK Machine Turn 3: Vincent Ethel 4000 LP, 3 cards in Hand, 1 Monster, 1 Set S/T Vincent 4000 LP, 7 Cards in Hand, 1 Set Monster "Alright so its my turn again, I'll draw one card from the deck" Vincent said as he pulled a card from the top of the deck and added it to his hand. Looking at the sleek looking machine on his opponent's side of the field, Vincent decided that it would probably be a problem and should be dealt with quickly. "Okay, I flip my face down monster into face up attack position," Vincent said as his face down card's projection flipped face up revealing a white and gold wolf. Ryko, The Lightsworn Hunter: ATK: 200 Def: 100 "I activate Ryko's Flip effect! I destroy your Ally of Justice Core Destroyer but I also send the top 3 cards of my deck to the graveyard!" Vincent shouted as he placed the top 3 cards of his deck into the grave. Ethel's eyes widened in surprise when she saw her Core Destroyer go up in pixels and was forced to put it in the graveyard. She took a single step back, frowning a little at the move her opponent just pulled. "I set one monster face down and then I'll end my turn." Vincent finished with a nod to his opponent. Turn 4: Ethel Ethel 4000 LP, 4 cards in Hand, 1 Set S/T Vincent 4000 LP, 6 Cards in Hand, 1 Set Monster, 1 Face up Monster Ehtel drew her card and once more seemed to have trouble maintaining a steady grip on them with the weight of the device on her arm pushing down on her. Keeping that thing straight was proving to be a challenge for her weak physique, but if the bluenette couldn't handle this then what COULD she handle? "I summon... Ally Of Justice Unlimiter..." Ethel called out to her opponent, placing the card on the metal surface. Another vortext opened as a black, jet-like contraption dashed out of it. Ally Of Justice Unlimiter: ATK 600 DEF 200, level 2 DARK Machine "Now I use Iron Call..." Sliding another card into the S/T zone, a spell card was visible to Vincent. It depicted a man using some sort of device to try and lure a metallic serpent out of a crater. "I can bring back my Core Destroyer now." As soon as Ethel finished explaining the ground tore up as Core Destroyer ran out of it furiously, letting out a shrill shried for the specators to cover their ears for. Ally of Justice Core Destroyer: ATK 1200 DEF 200, level 3 DARK Machine "Now I release Unlimiter..." The black jet launched itself up into the air and then stabbed into the backside of Core, the machine crying out in pain at the unexpected move. Gears turned on Unlimiter's side as red lights started to flicker on alongside Core's backside, its red eye lighting up more brightly than before. The black jet fell to the floor, broken just as Core started going wild. Ally of Justice Core Destroyer: ATK 1200 > 2400 ATK "Oh god, it just destroyed itself to double its ally's attack... this is gonna hurt isn't it?" Vincent responded at the situation, looking at his opponent with some respect. "Yes... Now, Core Destroyer! Kill his Ryko!" All of a sudden the usually quiet girl seemed to fire up, a devillish smirk coming across her face when she yelled for Core to attack. Her eyes opened up wide in anticipation, Core destroyer running across the field to bash it's head into Ryko, sending it flying and shattering it into mere pixels. Vincent raised his arms as his Ryko was shattered by the Core Destroyer and his Life Points were reduced by more than half. "That really hurt," he murmured under his breath. Vincent LP 4000 > 1800 Ethel regained her composure after a few heavy breaths when this happened, standing proper again while signalling Vincent's turn with an "End." coming out of her mouth. When she did, Core Destroyer seemed to collapse to the floor right after it's lights flickered out, shattering into pixels. "When my turn ends... the monster summoned by Iron Call gets destroyed..." Turn 5: Vincent Ethel 4000 LP, 2 cards in Hand, 1 Set S/T Vincent 1800 LP, 6 Cards in Hand, 1 Set Monster Vincent looked at his lifepoints which where now below half after only one attack. Gnashing his teeth he drew his next card, "I flip my face down monster into face up attack position, Arise Kaibaman!" Vincent roared as a man wearing a mask with long flowing brown hair and a white trenchcoat stood up on his side of the field. Kaibaman: Atk: 200 Def: 700 "Now I activate Kaibaman's effect to Special Summon 1 Blue-Eyes White Dragon in Attack Position," Vincent spoke triumphantly with a grin on his face. "Blue... Eyes?" Ethel tilted her head for a moment in thought, before realizing what was about to happen. Her eyes widened in shock, knowing just what was about to hit the field... Kaibaman looked up at the heavens above him and yelled a mighty yell, as the sound of a dragon's roar could be heard around the arena, Kaibaman was engulfed in a white pillar of light and disappeared into particles, as the Blue Eyes White Dragon descended from the sky, a magnificent beast of power and beauty, it landed on Vincent's side of the field. Blue-Eyes White Dragon: Atk 3000 Def 2500 Ethel was... mesmerized by the dragon's beauty. Blue-Eyes was a famous card as the saying goes in the dueling world. There used to be only three in existence belonging to a legendary duelist said to have fought against the King of Games himself. Now the card had gotten more prints, but its overwhelming power was still talked about to this day... The expression on the girl shifted to match, her eyes widening not in surprise nor shock, but in awe. Vincent looked at the Blue-Eyes White Dragon on his side of the field. It sure was one hell of a powerhouse. Who could forget a card that was one of the most popular cards in Duel Monsters? A card that practically everyone knew about due to its legacy. Vincent decided to try and go for the win in this turn "I summon Jain, The Lightsworn Paladin in attack mode!" Vincent said with a loud cry as a silverhaired knight wearing white and gold armor and carrying a sword and a shield was summoned to his side of the field. "Now Jain attack her lifepoints directly!" Jain, The Lightsworn Paladin: Atk 1800 Def: 1200 Ethel let out a cry of surprise when the swordsman slashed at her, reducing her life points. Ethel LP 4000 > 2200 "Now Blue-Eyes White Dragon, attack her directly! White Burst Stream!" Vincent cried. The white lightning beam charged up inside Blue-Eyes' gaping maw. Ethel's expression shifting to one of fear as her mouth curled down. In one quick burst, the beam was fired at her, and when it connected with the floor, a lot of white smoke rose up. Once it cleared, Ethel stood there, still, breathing heavily as a trap card picturing a man taking an explosion to the back was glowing next to her. "*Pant Pant* Right... Before you attacked, I activated Defense Draw... it makes the battle damage zero and gives me a card..." Ethel's expression changed to one of anger, now frowning and glaring daggers into vincent. She drew her card with a rough swing, practically slamming it into her hand. Vincent frowned as his attack failed to defeat his opponant, all that grand build up wasted... Oh well. "I set down one card and end my turn," Vincent said, finishing his turn by placing one card into the spell/trap zone and putting the top 2 cards of his deck into the grave as per Jain's effect. "I also have to send the top 2 cards of my deck to the grave due to Jain's effect, Your turn." Vincent finished. Turn 6: Ethel Ethel 2200 LP, 4 Cards in Hand Vincent 1800 LP, 4 Cards in Hand, 2 Face-up Monsters, 1 Set Card Ethel drew her card with the same fury as before, but didn't look at it quite yet. "Why won't you just fall down and die?!" she yelled seemingly unprovoked. Something had gotten into her... Vincent recoiled back a little scared at the girl. "Hey calm down a little, no need to threaten to kill others," he told her. Paying no mind to what he said, Ethel looked at the card she'd drawn. "I activate Cup of Ace! Tell it to stop!" She yelled at Vincent, assuming he still remembers the effect from before. "Stop!" Vincent shouted as he waited to see who got the cards. The cup spun and spun until it slowed down, ticking... Ticking... Ethel was looking up at the card, hoping for it to stop upwards... But it didn't. It stopped downwards, again. "ARGH!" Letting out frustration with a cry, Ethel shot her opponent another heart-stabbing glare. "Guess luck isn't really on your side... sadly." Vincent said as he drew 2 more cards from his deck His taunting didn't help the girl one bit. She grit her teeth and took a card from her hand, holding it out to Vincent to show what it was. "When you have two of your stupid LIGHT monsters out, I can Special Summon Ally of Justice Cosmic Gateway without having to tribute!" Ethel roared, throwing the card onto her disk. The girl's mouth was covered by the collar of her hood by this point, and her blue strands of hair were getting unruly from all the shaking she did with her head. Another vortex opened up, a literal gate to who knows where rising up out of it. Ally of Justice Cosmic Gateway: ATK 2400 DEF 1200, level 8 DARK Machine "Now I sacrifice my Gateway for a Tribute Summon!" Out of the gate crawled a metallic worm like being, it's topside covered in golden armor. Ally of Justice Omni-Weapon: ATK 2200 DEF 800, level 5 DARK Machine "Hold up, I activate my Trap card: Interdimensional Matter Transporter, to banish my Jain, the Lightsworn Paladin until your End Phase." Vincent said as Jain was sucked inside the device to a unknown place. Ethel was furious at the move Vincent just pulled, she wasn't able to do anything now! Omni-Weapon was dead weight on the field, and she could've just as well kept Gateway on the field. "Oooooh... I set ONE card and end my turn...!" Ethel gritted her teeth and set her card, passing off turn order as Jain re-appeared on Vincent's field. Turn 7: Vincent Ethel 2200 LP, 0 Cards in Hand, 1 Face-up Monster, 1 Set Card Vincent 1800 LP, 7 Cards in Hand, 2 Face-up Monsters "Alright, I guess this is the final turn, I draw" Vincent said as he pulled the top card out of his thinning deck, Vincent looked at the card in his hand. "Well, isn't this interesting." He murmered. "I Summon Lord of D. in Attack Mode!" Vincent cried as the lord of dragons appeared on the field in attack position. Lord of D. : Atk 1200 Def 1100 "Now watch as the something emerges from the chaos, I Banish 1 LIGHT monster and 1 DARK monster from my Graveyard, to Special Summon LIGHTPULSAR DRAGON!" 2 balls, one dark purple in color, the other a light yellow, emerged from a vortex in the ground. They danced around each other quickly before colliding and exploding in a brillant flash of white light, revealing the Lightpulsar Dragon in all of its glory. Its wings stretched out wide, showing bluish white scales. In it's battle-fury, it let out a mighty primal roar towards Vincent's opponent. Lightpulsar Dragon: Atk: 2500 Def: 1500 The moment Vincent Chaos Summoned Lightpulsar Dragon, Ethel knew it was over. The magnificent creature appeared on the battlefield with a brilliant aura, but it was too strong for Ethel to handle. She was staring at a total of four monsters on her opponent's field. She had only Omni-Weapon and a card face-down. Nothing she did right now would save her. Her legs gave in, the bluenette dropping to her knees in defeat after witnessing the Summon and now just waiting to be finished off. "I'll make it quick," Vincent told his opponent almost like he was sorry for what he was doing, but she would probably do the same to him if the situation was reversed. "Blue Eyes White Dragon, Destroy her Omni-Weapon with White Burst Stream!" Vincent shouted at his Dragon. Ethel had lowered her head, her hood covering her eyes which weren't visible to Vincent anymore. Omni-Weapon screamed and shattered, the wind blowing past Ethel who didn't even make an effort to react. Ethel LP 2200 > 1400 "Now Lightpulsar Dragon, finish this duel off, CHAOS PULSAR!" Vincent Cried loudly as Lightpulsar Dragon formed a large mixture of light and darkness above its head in the shape of a sphere, which was hurtled towards Vincent's opponent. Ethel looked up to see the ball of light hit her, sending her flying backwards onto the floor. She hit it pretty hard, letting out a small cry of pain as her Life Points dropped to zero. The girl groaned and rolled onto her side, then front in order to get back up. WIINNER: VINCENT

"Oh god, are you alright?" Vincent said, concerned if he had overdone it a little. He didn't want anyone to get injured, that really wasn't his intention. He didn't want anyone to get hurt. "Y-You..." Ethel was clasping her left side pretty tightly. When she was launched she'd hit the back of her duel disk, now stinging pain coursing through her frail body. "Y-YOU... I-I won't forget this...! I WON'T FORGIVE YOU FOR THIS!" she screamed at Vincent, lifting up her head to show small, delicate tears running down from her red eyes. The girl turned and ran away, back to her seat in an attempt to conceal her crying face. Vincent watched her go, he couldn't help but feel like it was his fault. After all he didn't have to win the duel. He could have just performed it very well and then give his opponent the victory. He didn't want it to be like this. Even so he also didn't know the person and that is probably why he felt even more guilty. He decided to leave it until later. He didn't want to dig himself a grave. Vincent started walking back to his seat.

Ethel tried to put up a fight and took an early lead, but with her getting unlucky and Vincent playing smart her opponent overpowered her in just two turns.
