He does not appear muscular, but he's far stronger than he looks. His size gives him a slightly stooped posture and lumbering gait, but those who mistake this for clumsiness or sluggishness quickly realize his posture and speed remain constant even when carrying a fully equipped trooper (or sometimes two!) to safety. His physical training always focuses on lifting and carrying heavy loads, and it shows in his grading. Other than strength and resilience, Roy is surprisingly gentle, on duty and out of it. His face is wide and honest, and he smiles to himself most of the time, even when dealing with wounds or death. He has little to no scars, because he almost never removes his helmet in combat, and otherwise always uses all measures of safety available to him that do not impact the mission (such as taking an extra five minutes adjusting his armor in the morning). Psychological Analysis: Roy's duties as a combat medic are done in a polite, professional manner, polite meaning the fine line between being nice and not caring. His past as a gang brute and a medical student gave him a rather introvert, unstable personality, but he rarely shows his inner works. Indeed, if anything can be said about his performance, is that it calms him and gives him satisfaction. He does not question the missions his squad receives, but if an objective does not sit with him, he would resort to the bare minimum required from him. It's both encouraging and sad that the activities he seems to enjoy the most are Medic duties at home base. Military Record: Roy's enrollment into the armed forces of the Empire hides pain and personal failure. His father, a heavy construction worker, died from trauma when he was 10, and he decided there and then to become a doctor and save people and their children from death and grief. But try as he might, he could barely handle the pressure of med-school, not to mention his queasiness when seeing blood or trauma. Eventually he broke down and left on 3rd year, when they started seeing real patients. Wounded soldiers was something he couldn't handle at all. His take on the problem was rather original - work in construction, beef up, join a gang and get beaten up until it doesn't hurt anymore. This worked surprisingly well, with TBA discovering the latent physical potential of his body. But after two years of living on the street, hospital work did not seem good enough anymore. No, he had to be there, preventing permanent damage instead of just medicating the guy a few weeks later when it's too late. He enrolled soon after as a Specialist, his medical studies shortening and upgrading his professional training. Half a year later, he found himself in the white-and-blue armor of Stormtrooper Medics, doing the Beat. His attitude towards the service is almost civilian - he is there to save and heal the soldiers, without questioning their mission, or indeed caring for it. Only those who know A'Salaam personally know of the turmoil in his heart, given the contradictions of his trade.
