Race: Insectoid - Insectoids are humanoid creatures with heavily insect-like physical features, hence the somewhat obvious name. They are known for being very diverse creatures, possessing a wide variety physical features from extra limbs to sharp horns and spikes on their bodies, though they all tend to have chitin-like skin, antennae, and solid colored eyes. Most of them are lithe but surprisingly hardy, preferring to live in small groups at reclusive, warm locations, such as in deserts or deep within rainforests. They are largely self-sufficient and have a reputation for excellence in craftsmanship and engineering, and are known to fiercely defend their homes. They are also purely carnivorous and are commonly stereotyped as hive-minded barbarians who eat anyone who discovers their camps, which admittedly has some truth behind it. While most Insectoid societies are communal to some degree, though, many support individualism and personal freedoms, and most are amiable to the occasional visitor. 

Appearance: A fully fledged Insectoid, Zaira is somewhat tall for her age with a lithe, agile, and shapely body which disguises a decent amount of muscle. Her "skin" is forest green and is composed of chitinous plating like, well, an insect. She has thin lips, somewhat large solid black eyes, no nose or ears, and prominent antennae extending out from under a head of scaly green hair in a short cut, with neon blue-green highlights. She has an extra pair of arms extending from under her shoulders, and she also has a large pair of dragon-fly like wings on her back, which she can use to hover around from place to place. In addition to whatever she happens to be wearing, she'll normally have a pair of headphones hanging around her neck.

Personality: Artistic and intelligent, Zaira was the daughter and the grandaughter of two of the greatest artisans in her town, and is driven by her desire to live up to her legacy. She always dives into every activity and challenge with gusto, eager to learn a new skill or an extra bit of knowledge. She also tends to be easily distracted and overemotional, and her amiable attitude and zaniness tend to annoy those who aren't as used to her spontaneity.

Quirks: 
-Zaira enjoys listening to music in her spare time, mostly electro-synthpop stuff.
-Her wings are a lot tougher then they appear, being self-healing and able to cut unprotected skin like glass if they are broken.
-Her movement tends to be a little stiff and twitchy, which gets more noticeable when she's stressing out.
-She has the ability to spew acidic juices from her mouth, but she never uses it because "it's gross and icky".
-She has lived in a secluded Insectoid colony for most of her life and has only had less than a year to explore the modern world before going off to school.
