Amber Valley
(Rough sketch, had to draw it without my stylus) H = Amber Valley High School W = West Mall There's not a lot of specifics right now, but I think there will be some more details as the RP progresses.
The business area of Amber Valley has the typical amnenities that were built to support the farmers and manufacturers in the town. There are department and hardware stores, restaurants, a library, the town hall and courthouse, what you'd generally expect. Notably there is a popular diner run by the Carter family, just called "Carter's", which has an authentic 50's feel to it, since it was built in the 50's, and the parents of Betsy and Robert Hunter run a bookstore.

In order to build their new mall, the West family bought a block of warehouses from the manufacturing district for the space, as well as some land around it they intended to sell at a higher price once the mall increased their value. The construction started a few years ago, and is nearly complete. A large restaurant and dance floor called the Barefoot Hop bought their building before mall construction started, buying it before the price was increased, and then quickly built the interior at the beginning of the summer before the mall was built. It's basically right between the high school and the mall too. They're styled like a retro fifties diner, scoffed at by a lot of people in Amber Valley due to the presence of an actual fifties diner downtown. It's pretty popular due to the attractive staff members, which also upsets a lot of the town. Briefly named "2Teens1Malt" but anyone who understood the reference didn't want to go.

As farming became more automated, manufacturing became the economic focus of Amber Valley, and many factories and warehouses popped up in the north side of town, as well as some apartment blocks nearby. Some are for food processing and granaries and stuff, but most are for cars or consumer goods.

Mica National Park is a natural reserve that borders Amber Valley, with some small hills and mountains and a dense forest. It's managed by Cole Summers, Jenny and Alexandra's father, who recently started charging for admission to trails.
