[indent]Although Ophelia is 16, she looks about 14 mainly because of her youthful appearance. She's also a little on the shorter side standing at 5'3 and has a rather tiny frame for a girl her age. Her most notable feature is her fiery red hair which falls to about the middle of her back. Like any average redhead, her skin is quite pale and crowded with freckles. Her eyes are a lovely golden brown color frame with long, dark lashes. Although she stands out a little more, Ophelia is a fairly pretty girl.[/indent]

[indent]Ophelia seems to be cold all the time, so she's almost always wearing a jacket or sweater of some kind. She prefers darker colors, but will wear some of the nice, light-hued dresses her mother sends on sunnier days. She owns several pairs of boots and even more pairs of thick socks to keep her toes warm. Ophelia always wears a silver necklace with a little crescent moon pendant, and usually some sort of studded earrings.[/indent]

[indent]Despite Syltherin's bad rep, Ophelia is not a mean or self-centered person (however, she [i]does[/i] take care of herself.) Although she's not the friendliest either, but that's mostly because she's not very outgoing or talkative. She is kind and thoughtful but also ambitious and intelligent-and she knows it. Ophelia fully embraces intellectual abilities and is not afraid of a challenge. She is generally a nice person, but she is brutally honest and will not hesitate to give you her opinion when asked for it. When stressed or upset, Ophelia will hide inside a shell and stay in it until something positive happens in her life. This can sometimes send the message that she is unkind and anti-social. Like most slytherins, she's very cunning and has no problem getting a little sweet revenge on someone who has wronger her. Though you will never know it was her, and if you do, you will never tell. However, she does not go too far and knows that there is a fine line between a silly prank and cruel harassment. It's a little hard to infiltrate her personal bubble but once you're in, you're in for life. Ophelia only has a few loved ones but she would fight to the death for each and every one of them.[/indent][center][h3][color=000000][u]Delving Deeper[/u][/color][/h3][/center]
[b][u]Background:[/u][/b]
[indent]Ophelia was the daughter of a poor witch whose muggle lover left her as soon as he found out she was pregnant. Due to the fact that Melissa, Ophelia's birth mother, could not financially support herself and her child, she left Ophelia in the hands of a wealthy wizarding couple who could not have a baby. That couple, Cassius and Sabrina Crafter, took her in and raised her in a fairly normal and stable home. They made no effort to have any other children, therefore making Ophelia the apple of their eye. They gave her pretty much everything she needed in life but made her work for the things she wanted. Because of this, Ophelia was never spoiled and grew up to appreciate her belongings and respectful towards those who weren't as fortunate. 

Ophelia's parents were fairly certain that she would inherit her birth mother's magical abilities and were not surprised when, at the age of 7, she caused all of her cousin's hair to fall out (this was after he pushed her off a tree.) Her adoptive father is mostly pure-blood, but her adoptive-mother grew up in a muggle household. Ophelia grew up knowing things about the magic world and the muggle world, and even went to muggle school for a while. On her eleventh birthday, though, she received her letter from Hogwarts and was sorted into Slytherin her first year. Her father became sick during her 3rd year and as a result, Ophelia's academics took a hit. Although she's worked since then to improve (not quite a the top again, but very close), she still lets her worrying get in the way sometimes.  [/indent]
