He isn't really enlightened. Just sort of. To the point he can pop around and spread words of nonsense and wisdom. It wouldn't dramatically steer the direction of the story. :) I put his race as an enlightened being more because that is what he considers himself and because he is unlikely to fit into any category as he is technically alien. Why is it unbalanced? Maybe hundreds was a high estimation, but he moves around very quickly in battle so he would use lots of portals. He has no enhanced physique, so he wouldn't be taking on armies or anything. His ability to move between dimensions is rooted in his character because he is a nomad from a magical world. He is on Earth to help protect humanity, but that means helping it help itself. Rather than opening pan dimensional portals for everyone which would affect the storyline negatively, his purpose is to support other characters, to guide.. blah dee blah. I hope that helped.
Again, last I checked this was a human and human variants only, I don't think alien nomads are allowed. My point of the portal remains though, why is he using a fighting style which can weaken him and cause him to die? If he used like a special move it'd make more sense but as a primary way of fighting, not really. Hell, it seems that your entire character is dependent on the portal for anything really. Of course that's assuming the portal thing is accepted anyways. Also, his bio and his personality go against what was originally said in the OP. Our characters are meant to be flawed and imperfect, its said that we can't be the saintliest heroic good guys or villainous horrible bad guys and it seems like your character is undoubtedly the first kind. Something else too, why does an alien look like an ethnically Thai human?
