Jerrot was woken by his music player, saying it had lost its cloud connection. Funny he thought... he almost never lost connection unless he was underground. He tried to reconnect.. nothing. He tried to ping local hosts, finding he could connect to the antenna near his home but not to any others or to any satellites. His headset receiver must have broken or malfunctioned, that was bad news, the software should be untaintable and the hardware should never have errors: The only other explainable option would be some sort of interference. He decided he would return home, walking west along the beach. He passed the various fishing boats that were stored there, some on trailers others on parallel planks of wood.. and some, just floating there. Many of the boats were in the water as was usual of this time, but none of them had anyone in them. Wherever the people gone to, they had left all their stuff behind. Jerrot figured that the only explanation was that there must have been an emergency so they had been called to help in some way. But what sort of emergency warranted the help of the entirety of the fishing crew? He carried on walking past the boats, it was a strangely unsettling sight. Jerrot didn't like it when he could not explain something. Further down the coast he saw what looked like two people splashing around in the water, fully clothed. Had they forgotten swimming gear? Things were just getting stranger and stranger. Jerrot doubted they could see him at this distance, he had yet to meet someone with his level of vision, he started into a light trot: He wanted to find out what the hell had happened to the fishermen. As he got closer the two figures climbed into a boat near them, both looked shocked, had they fallen in? The male on the boats side he recognized as the nicknamed Noah, or Ming Hua, a student he had met around town a few times though didn't know very well, he looked a bit younger than him, he was probably in the year below. The female he did not know, though he has seen her face before, on two counts. She was looking round the edge of the boat looking rather flustered. He heard her words: "..was gone." She began to help Noah up "What's your name?" Jerrot waited till Noah was atop the vessel before shouting in his augmented voice: "Hey!" Waving as he did. Most people in town had seen his mouthpiece already so he doubted they would be alarmed. "You guys?! Noah? You alright? You don't know what's going on do you? Like, where everyone went?" Jerrot had a bad habit of asking too many questions at once.
